Erin Bates Recovers from Septic Shock Following Birth of Seventh Child
Well wishes are flooding in for Bringing Up Bates personality Erin Bates as she recuperates from septic shock, which occurred just days following the arrival of her and Chad Paine's seventh child.
Paine shared the news of the birth on Instagram on August 27, 2025, disclosing that Bates had encountered “difficulties.”
“Following an extended and challenging labor, our little miracle made his entrance. Henry Blythe arrived on August 25th,” he penned. “Henry is thriving beautifully, but we would deeply value your prayers for Erin as she continues to recuperate from certain challenges. We are grateful to the Lord for guiding us through and for the blessing of this beloved son.”
Several days subsequent, on September 1, 2025, Paine expressed gratitude to supporters, acquaintances, and relatives for their encouragement and provided an update on his spouse's health status.

“A week has passed since our blessing, Henry, joined us,” the Instagram update stated. “He is progressing well in the NICU and is our source of joy. We had requested prayers for Erin's recuperation following complications. Her labor was more protracted and arduous compared to her prior deliveries.”
Paine proceeded, “She has been battling through this ordeal and has been such a beacon of hope and a gentle testament of resilience to the nurses, staff, and medical professionals. We are profoundly touched by her compassion and thankfulness even while experiencing pain. Erin contracted a severe urinary tract infection and kidney infection, which led to septic shock. She remains in the ICU at present as physicians persist in her treatment, diagnosis, and quest for solutions. We would highly value your prayers for this wonderful woman who shines so brightly in a challenging world. We are clinging to God's assurances.”
