Errol Musk Accused of Sexual Abuse by Five Relatives Amidst Estranged Relationship with Elon
Elon Musk’s estranged father, Errol Musk, faces allegations of sexual abuse from five of his biological and step-children.
A recent New York Times investigative report, released on Tuesday, September 23, details claims that the 79-year-old entrepreneur began sexually abusing relatives as early as 1993, with incidents reported in his South African residence and California.
The inquiry drew upon evidence from police and judicial documents, alongside conversations with relatives and social service professionals.
Errol has refuted these accusations, stating to the newspaper that “the reports are completely untrue and utterly absurd.”

He further asserted that these claims originated from family members who were “coaching the children to fabricate stories” and suggested they aimed to extort funds from Elon, 54.

Despite Errol’s assertion of being “very close” to Elon, the Tesla CEO previously confided to Rolling Stone in 2017 that his father had committed “nearly every conceivable malicious act. … It's unbelievably awful.”
During that period, Elon stated that mending his strained relationship with his father was impossible. "From my perspective,” he clarified, “nothing can be done.”
In a 2023 official biography authored by Walter Isaacson, Elon additionally verified that he maintains no contact with his father.
As reported by the Times, the initial allegation of sexual misconduct against Errol purportedly dates back to 1993, when his then-4-year-old stepdaughter informed family members that he had touched her at their residence. Ten years afterward, the stepdaughter claimed she found Errol smelling her soiled undergarments.
In 2023, relatives and a social worker reportedly intervened after Errol’s then-5-year-old son alleged his father had inappropriately touched his buttocks.

The Times investigation, drawing on accounts from family members and numerous police and judicial documents, indicates that three distinct police inquiries were initiated concerning these allegations. Two of these investigations concluded, while the outcome of the third remains undisclosed. Errol has not been found guilty of any offense.
Reportedly, at a certain juncture, some relatives sought assistance from Elon. Approximately in 2010, as per the Times, an unnamed family member composed a five-page letter to Elon outlining several of the accusations.
“We desperately require your counsel, support, and direction concerning these issues, as we witness these children’s daily suffering,” declared the letter, which was examined by the Times. It remains uncertain whether Elon perused the correspondence.
