Ex-Boyfriend Provides DNA in Investigation of Cheerleader Accused of Concealing Infant

Authorities have received a DNA sample from an ex-boyfriend of Laken Snelling, the former University of Kentucky competitive cheerleader facing accusations of concealing her deceased infant in a closet.

Izaiah Hall recently submitted the DNA sample to law enforcement regarding the ongoing investigation, his father informed the New York Post on Saturday, September 6.

“Lexington police requested he visit the station to provide a sample,” stated Hall’s father, Justin Smith. “I have no further information on this matter, and we are uncertain whether Izaiah is the biological father.”

The 21-year-old Hall is presently a quarterback at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, pursuing a degree in Business Administration.

Details Emerge on Autopsy Findings for Kentucky Cheerleader Laken Snelling's Infant

He was a student at Anderson County High School in Clinton, Tennessee, approximately 50 miles from Jefferson County High School in Dandridge, Tennessee, where the 21-year-old Snelling attended.

The duration of Hall and Snelling's relationship, or the timing of their separation, remains unknown.

“I prefer not to elaborate further at this point,” Hall’s father informed the Post.

Online social media content from as late as June depicted Snelling alongside a different man. There is no information indicating if this man is linked to the infant’s death, or if their relationship persisted when the baby died.

Snelling's arrest took place at her Lexington, Kentucky residence on August 30, facing charges of Abuse of a Corpse, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Concealing the Birth of an Infant.

Law enforcement officials were sent to the residence on August 27 following a report concerning an unresponsive baby.

An arrest citation states that the “infant was discovered wrapped in a towel within a black trash bag.”

While being interviewed by authorities at the scene, Snelling “confessed to delivering the baby” and “hiding the birth by cleaning up any evidence, putting all utilized cleaning supplies into a black trash bag, along with the infant, who was enveloped in a towel.”

Months Prior to Infant's Death, Kentucky Cheerleader Shared Couples Photos

Snelling made an appearance in a Lexington courtroom on Tuesday, September 2, entering a not-guilty plea to all accusations.

She has since been released on a $100,000 bond and is currently under “home incarceration without an ankle monitor” at her parents' home in Tennessee.

A university representative informed Us Weekly on Friday, September 5 that Snelling is no longer enrolled at the institution nor is she part of the university’s STUNT team, the competitive cheerleading group where she had been a participant for the previous three seasons.

The initial court hearing for Snelling is set for September 26.
