Farrah Abraham Distances Herself From Parents Citing Daughter's Disapproval
Farrah Abraham expresses reluctance regarding reconciliation with her parents, Michael Abraham and Debra Danielsen.
“There's no real bond with them, and my daughter has essentially cut off contact,” Farrah, 34, revealed exclusively to Us Weekly during her promotional activities for A&E’s Secrets of Celebrity Sex Tapes docuseries. “She disapproves of how they act. Honestly, you can continue with therapy, but at times it feels like a waste of resources. No significant improvements have occurred.”
A recent incident that disturbed Farrah was Michael’s choice to appear in the A&E docuseries, a program investigating the narratives surrounding prominent celebrity sex tapes. An installment focusing on Farrah’s involvement in adult entertainment is scheduled for broadcast on Monday, September 22.
“My father persistently sent me messages about his hair regrowth, yet he never mentioned anything about the program,” Farrah stated. “My mother makes unsolicited calls to my daughter, disregarding the courtesy of first seeking my permission.”

Upon learning her father was involved in Secrets of Celebrity Sex Tapes, the ex-Teen Mom personality expressed complete astonishment.
“I believe I've always had a firm principle that individuals in my private sphere should show respect and seek permission,” Farrah elaborated. “Regrettably, this is precisely why I feel no need to communicate with my family. I am deeply committed to the concept of consent. I consult my daughter on matters before I ever speak on them, or I'll say, ‘Hey, I'm attending this event. Is it alright if I bring you up?’ because I recognize it genuinely bothers her if she prefers not to be referenced.”
Us has contacted Farrah’s parents to request their statement.
Viewers were introduced to Farrah when she featured on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant in 2009. Footage captured her giving birth to her daughter, Sophia, a mere two months following the tragic death of her boyfriend, Derek, in a vehicle collision.
During her involvement in the series’ continuation, Teen Mom, Farrah frequently found herself in disagreements with her parents. Nevertheless, in an installment aired in March 2018, she formally departed the show, having opted for a career in adult entertainment rather than continuing with the franchise.

While Farrah remains dedicated to providing optimal mothering for her daughter, she remains reluctant to reconcile with her parents. A significant factor, she asserts, is Sophia's disinterest in maintaining a connection with her maternal grandparents.
“My daughter genuinely spoke with me quite recently. She plainly stated, ‘Regardless of this episode airing, do not resume communication with them,’” Farrah remembered. “Furthermore, my daughter has been brought up not to burden herself with toxic elements, so she simply rejects it. Avoid that situation. Don't engage with the drama.”
