Former Miss Switzerland Contestant’s Husband Accused of Strangling and Liquefying Her Remains.
In court documents, police identified the 38-year-old beauty queen by her initials, noting her participation in the Miss Switzerland competition in 2007. Swiss media identified the husband, who was unnamed in the records, as Thomas. Investigators confirmed the suspect is a 43-year-old male.Prosecutors announced on Thursday, December 10, that Thomas has been formally charged with his wife's murder and disturbing the peace.Thomas originally told investigators that he returned to their Binningen home on the night of the murder to find Joksimovic already dead. Police reports indicate that less than a month later, the husband changed his account. He allegedly later informed detectives that he killed his wife in self-defense.However, forensic experts determined Joksimovic had been beheaded before her death, and her remains showed no signs of a struggle, contradicting her husband’s version of events.Detectives began investigating Joksimovic’s death almost immediately due to its suspicious nature, but prosecutors confirmed her husband was not officially charged with the beauty queen’s murder until this month. An autopsy revealed that the husband allegedly dismembered Joksimovic using a jigsaw and garden shears. The reports further claim that police stated Thomas had "meticulously removed" the victim's uterus in what was described as a "deliberate mutilation or ritualized degradation of the body."The husband allegedly proceeded to slice up her body parts before using an industrial-grade blender to liquefy her remains.Lindsay Shiver Set to Be Released on Bail After Alleged Murder PlotLocal reports described the body as having been “puréed.” The husband also allegedly used a chemical dissolvent to help break down his wife's body.As he cut up her remains, the husband allegedly watched videos on YouTube.Joksimovic and Thomas have two young children together.Us Weekly was unable to confirm if the husband has entered pleas to the two charges filed against him.
