Fox Sports Radio Producer Fired Over Charlie Kirk Death Remarks
A radio producer with Fox Sports Las Vegas has been dismissed following a series of posts on X concerning the passing of Charlie Kirk.
Bobby Machado, whose X profile was subsequently removed, published several posts containing strong language in the wake of Kirk’s fatal shooting on Wednesday, September 10, which appeared to endorse the conservative pundit’s demise.
“We are profoundly troubled by an abhorrent and offensive social media message created by an individual who is no longer an employee in Las Vegas, concerning the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk,” stated a communication released on social media by Lotus Communications, the parent company of the station. “This message originated solely from the individual’s personal social media account and does not, in any capacity, represent the opinions or principles of Lotus Communications, its stations, its staff, or its esteemed collaborators.”
“We unequivocally condemn this type of discourse,” the statement further elaborated. “The person’s employment was terminated with immediate effect, and they are no longer affiliated with our organization. We offer our heartfelt regrets for his deplorable and offensive remarks.”

The Las Vegas Golden Knights, the National Hockey League team for whom Machado contributed to radio broadcast production, similarly issued a declaration stating that he had never been employed by their organization.
“We unequivocally denounce the egregious and reprehensible comments posted on social media by a Lotus Broadcasting employee concerning Charlie Kirk,” detailed a statement from the Golden Knights. “This individual is not, and has never been, an employee of the Golden Knights. Any glorification or justification of violence is contemptible, intolerable, and will not be condoned. We have insisted that Lotus rectify this situation without delay.”
Machado marks the third individual in sports media to be dismissed from their position following Kirk’s passing. Reports indicate that a communications specialist for the Carolina Panthers and a beat reporter for the Phoenix Suns also faced termination due to their social media commentary.
Kirk passed away on Wednesday at 31 years old, having sustained a gunshot wound while delivering a speech at a gathering on the Utah Valley University campus. Law enforcement apprehended 22-year-old Tyler Robinson on Friday morning, September 12, in connection with the incident.

President Donald Trump, a staunch supporter of Kirk, disclosed the arrest during a Friday appearance on Fox News.
“In essence, an individual who was quite close to him reported him,” Trump, 79, commented regarding Robinson. “I believe with considerable assurance, he is now in our custody.”
This apprehension occurred a day after the FBI disseminated a collection of photographs of the suspect, soliciting public assistance for identification. The images depicted the person attired in a black T-shirt featuring an American flag and an eagle emblem, complemented by a baseball cap and sunglasses.
Furthermore, the FBI released video footage purportedly showing the suspect escaping from a rooftop opposite Kirk’s location in the immediate aftermath of the gunfire.
