Francesca is the daughter of director Martin Scorsese and his fifth wife, Helen Morris; she was welcomed into the world on November 16, 1999, four months after their marriage.
In a February 2024 episode of Sirius XM’s “This Life of Mine with James Corden,” Martin shared that learning Morris was pregnant with Francesca was an “extraordinary surprise” because he was 56 at the time. The director, who is also father to Cathy (from his first marriage to Laraine Marie Brennan) and Domenica (from his marriage to ex-wife Julia Cameron), wholeheartedly embraced the role once more.
Martin informed host James Corden that he and Helen felt “gifted with this pregnancy” and added, “It was extraordinary, and being 56 at that point gave me a different perspective on life.”
He continued, “It instantly became paramount—this little one arriving, and her. We were unaware if it was a girl or boy, and then she arrived five weeks early in the middle of the night, resulting in significant commotion and panic.”

She said, “I got this position, obviously, because my dad was supervising everything as the executive producer. I won't deny anything. I’m honored to be given an opportunity like this, and I’m going to do my best.”
Collaborates with Her Dad on TikTok
Many people were first introduced to Francesca through her TikTok account, where she regularly posted videos featuring her father. The clips revealed a side of the director that few typically see, endearing Francesca to many of his fans.
In November 2024, Francesca shared with People that the pair put significant thought into producing their TikToks. “We discuss it first, and then it evolves into a production,” she explained. “And then we’re like, ‘Okay, no, we’ll redo that. Okay, hold on. You sit here. No, the lighting’s here. Should we face this way?’ It becomes quite elaborate.”
Martin made his initial appearance on Francesca’s TikTok channel in 2021, and she told the outlet that she asked her dad to participate because they were both feeling bored. “I noticed those videos got a lot of engagement, and I thought, that’s pretty wild,” she added. “But people genuinely enjoyed seeing them. People love seeing him do these things and observing his more ordinary side. People recognize this immense star and extraordinarily talented individual, which he is, but they also get to witness the dad.”
