Frank Cozzolino's daughter reveals lymphoma diagnosis caused his death at 56

The cause of death for Holmes on Homes personality Frank Cozzolino has been revealed.

Cozzolino died on December 4 at age 56, having succumbed to lymphoma, a form of blood cancer affecting the lymphatic system, according to his daughter.

“My father was cherished by many. A man characterized by passion, empathy, complete honesty, and integrity,” Cozzolino’s daughter, Filomena, posted on Instagram on Saturday, December 6. “He endured the challenges of organ disease and was granted a second chance at life in 2017 through the kindness of organ donation.”

Filomena explained that her father’s liver condition returned earlier this year, necessitating a second transplant in July.

“It truly gave him a third opportunity for life,” Filomena recalled. “He faced numerous complications after the operation, overcoming each new obstacle until he was diagnosed with lymphoma. Ever persistent, he never gave up.”

She added, “He pondered his situation and decided to keep fighting. He had defied the odds before, thinking, ‘The world won’t be rid of me so easily.’ Although he passed away late in the evening on December 4, 2025, my father pushed far beyond what his medical team, friends, and family had thought possible.”

Filomena further disclosed that Cozzolino “fought fiercely” against his cancer diagnosis.

“You are the strongest person I know, and I am grateful for the time we shared on Earth,” she wrote, addressing her father directly. “Now your battle is complete, and you can rest. We will all see you again.”

Filomena also expressed hope that loved ones and HGTV fans would continue to honor Cozzolino’s memory following his passing.

“Loved ones will recall their most cherished memories with him, whether those memories involve sharing a meal, rocking out at a concert, having their best laugh, navigating their darkest moments together, or picking his brain about electrical work, music, or travel,” she wrote. “He would want us to hold onto every memory tightly as we process our grief. He was a man with a gift for conversation and believed strongly in the power of optimism. His passing, as heartbreaking as it is, should motivate us to keep moving forward and practice kindness and generosity.”

Cozzolino also requested that his loved ones avoid gathering for a formal funeral service.

“For all those who wish to pay their respects, he specifically requested no funeral. Instead, he preferred that people celebrate the positive moments they shared with him,” Filomena elaborated. “His life, and the lives of those close to him, were enhanced by organ donation. We can honor him by contributing to organ transplant research, cancer research, or by becoming organ donors ourselves. This allows us to continue bringing others a second, or third, chance at life.”

Cozzolino appeared alongside Mike Holmes on HGTV’s Holmes on Homes, where they assisted in renovating substandard properties.

“I am devastated by the loss of my close friend Frank Cozzolino. Frank improved us all. His influence will persist in every home he helped,” Holmes, 62, posted via Instagram earlier this week. “Frank could walk into the most chaotic electrical situation, make a characteristic joke, and suddenly, the entire room would feel lighter. That was simply who he was. Frank wasn’t just skilled at his work — he truly cared about people.”
