From Dating App to Vegas Vows David Harbour and Lily Allen's Love Story

David Harbour and Lily Allen have journeyed significantly since their initial connection on a dating application.

The couple initially ignited rumors of a romance in August 2019, following their joint attendance at a theatrical performance in London. Just two months subsequent, they made their first public appearance as a couple on the red carpet at a Skin Cancer Foundation Event.

Allen and Harbour exchanged vows in Las Vegas, a decision influenced by a remark from Allen’s daughters, Ethel and Marnie, whose father is her former husband, Sam Cooper.

“Early in the [coronavirus] pandemic, we were cycling in the countryside — she has two lovely daughters, aged 8 and 9 — trying to strategize our plans for the upcoming year or whatever duration it would be,” the Stranger Things actor recounted during a June 2021 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “The younger daughter was riding beside us, repeating, ‘David, Dad, David, Dad.’ The similarity of the ‘d’ sound had caused her confusion. This greatly distressed the elder daughter, which I comprehend, and she exclaimed, ‘He’s not our dad! He’s not our dad!'”

He further elaborated: “Then the younger child questioned, ‘So, what is he? He’s sort of our dad.’ The older one countered, ‘No, he isn’t.’ ‘He’s sort of our stepdad.’ ‘No, he isn’t,” he proceeded. “And she inquired, ‘What exactly is he?’ To which the older one declared, ‘He’s merely some individual in our existence!’ … At that moment, I thought, ‘I must propose to this woman.'”
