From Stage to Family: A Look at Derek and Hayley Hough's Love Story

Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert charmed viewers with their undeniable connection long before they exchanged vows in 2023.

Hough initially met Erbert after she joined the cast of his and his sister Julianne Hough’s Move Live Tour in 2014. By July 2015, they had become a couple.

During their collaborative performances in Derek’s autumn 2021 residency at the Venetian in Las Vegas, he playfully suggested marrying at one of the city’s iconic wedding chapels — but it wasn’t until June 2022 that he formally proposed.

Only a few months following their wedding in August 2023, Erbert needed urgent brain surgery. Derek remained steadfastly by her side throughout the process, and over two years later, the couple celebrated the arrival of their first child in December 2025.
