Full House Family Remembers Bob Saget on Anniversary of His Death
Bob Saget has been gone for four years, but his memory endures in the hearts of his Full House castmates — and those who cherished him.
The actor passed away in January 2022 at the age of 65. He was discovered in his Orlando, Florida, hotel room while on tour, with the medical examiner later confirming his death resulted from “blunt head trauma” from an “unintentional” fall.
Following his passing, Saget’s television family came together to honor the beloved actor, who is most known for playing Danny Tanner on Full House from 1987 to 1995. Saget returned to the role on Fuller House from 2016 to 2020.
On the fourth anniversary of his death, Friday, January 9, Candace Cameron Bure and John Stamos were among the first of his former colleagues to share fond recollections of the late star.

“I miss you. Not just today, but every day, ” Candace Cameron Bure, who portrayed Saget’s eldest daughter D.J. Tanner on the sitcom, wrote via Instagram, sharing throwback images of their time together.
Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, responded in the comments section, “He certainly adored you. And goodness, I’ve never seen that Jesus — Hand to God picture before.”
John Stamos
“Missing Bob feels like standing in a quiet room after the laughter ceases. Your ears still ring with what was present, but the sound is gone,” John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse, wrote via social media. “The heart of it is gone. It’s empty. It’s not a sharp ache. It’s a low hum. Soft. Constant. Something you carry until everything becomes quiet.”
The actor explained, “Missing someone is love with no destination. So it resides beside you. It waits. Hoping they’ll walk back through the door and the laughter will begin again.”
Stamos expressed disbelief at how much time had elapsed, adding, “4 unbelievable years. Can’t believe it. I miss you, Bob. (Some of my favorite personal pictures).”
Kelly Rizzo
Rizzo, who was married to Saget from 2018 until his death, also shared a heartfelt message on the anniversary of his death.
“Four years ago today, we all lost Bob. This was an unimaginably painful shock that we, his family, and friends experienced, and unsurprisingly, January 9 can bring us right back to how dreadful that feeling and that day were,” Rizzo began a lengthy Instagram post. “But the reason I say we all lost Bob is because over the years, the outpouring of messages, hundreds and thousands of messages I’ve received from all of you saying how much he meant to you and how you’ve felt such a massive loss as well, has been remarkable.”

She recalled, “So many of you felt he was part of your family too. So many of you have literally said, ‘he raised me’ or ‘he felt just like a dad to me.’ That is why I profoundly recognize that on January 9, we all lost somebody incredibly dear and special to us.”
Rizzo continued: “I’m also always so grateful to be able to look back and see all of the sweet and humorous videos and pictures that we shared together over the years. But it struck me this time while creating this video that so much of this I have shared in some way before, and it made me really sad to think that I have a finite amount of videos and photos, and I can’t ever record any more. But I suppose that makes me realize just how precious the ones I have truly are.”
She concluded, “Thank you all for continuing to love Bob, remember him, and celebrate him. It means more than you know.”
After seeing Rizzo’s tribute, which featured a video montage of some of her best moments with Saget, Cameron Bure responded, writing, “My heart.”
