G Flip and Chrishell Stause Open Up About the Emotional Toll of Their IVF Journey

G Flip has openly discussed the challenging phases of their in vitro fertilization (IVF) experience alongside their spouse, Chrishell Stause.
"IVF is an incredibly demanding process for anyone navigating it — whether queer or straight partnerships, or even individuals embarking on it solo," the 31-year-old Australian vocalist, who identifies as nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, shared with People on Monday, September 8. "Currently, we're encountering the truly sorrowful and bleak aspects of this time, marked by brief moments of optimism, many setbacks, fleeting hope, and then despair."
G Flip, whose birth name is Georgia Claire Flipo, further mentioned that the entire procedure has been characterized by "significant fluctuations."
"Ultimately, it's crucial to rely on and support one another, emerging from the experience as a united front, striving to prevent it from fracturing the relationship or individuals," they went on to explain. "My heart goes out to everyone undertaking this journey; I have friends who are, and truly, it's incredibly difficult. It's a very somber ordeal."
Chrishell Stause Discusses Experiences from Her and G Flip's Path to Parenthood
G Flip and Stause, aged 44, exchanged vows in Las Vegas in May 2023, following a year-long courtship.
Stause revealed exclusively to Us Weekly in March that pursuing a family together through adoption has been a “challenging path.”
“We’ve maintained a degree of privacy regarding the specifics, primarily because I don’t believe elaborating on every detail is beneficial,” she stated. “However, for anyone familiar with this process, there are numerous obstacles, and we now sense we’re experiencing an improvement.”
Stause added, “Our current outlook is quite optimistic. And I assure you — no one will be more thrilled than I am to share positive developments when the time comes. Therefore, until then, I truly believe that everything unfolds as it’s meant to.”
In June, Stause announced on her Instagram Stories that she was embarking on another round of IVF.
"Riding the IVF rollercoaster once more. I suspect this might be my final endeavor,” she posted then. "While other options exist, this particular path was necessary to explore initially due to time constraints. Thus, if it's destined to happen, it will. Otherwise, we'll adapt."
Stause’s update followed an interview with Us where she and G Flip discussed their “taxing” journey in a cover feature inaugurating Pride month.
“Our circumstances make it challenging to conceive children,” Stause noted. “It’s not as simple as natural conception for us. The process involves numerous stages, extensive foresight, and many potential complications and failures.”
G Flip conceded, “For queer couples pursuing parenthood, when circumstances don’t align as hoped, it has, at times, led to considerable sadness.”

Nonetheless, the couple confirmed their commitment to providing each other with maximum support.
“During your lowest moments, your significant other provides care,” Stause commented, with G Flip adding, “We exchange supportive notes and encouraging text messages regularly. In fact, we engage in many such gestures every day.”
Stause concluded, “We’re persisting on this path, despite encountering some obstacles. Yet, we are simply managing and moving forward with the procedure. Things don’t invariably unfold precisely as desired. Whatever transpires is what is destined to occur, and we are striving to back each other throughout this entire experience.”
