George Clooney and other stars share why they never argue with their partners
Although relationship disagreements are common for most pairs, a select few celebrity duos maintain they have never engaged in a single conflict.
In September 2022, during an interview on CBS Mornings, George Clooney discussed his marriage to Amal Clooney, stating, “It certainly begins with affection.” He continued, explaining that this affection forms the core principle of their relationship, adding, “It has simply flowed effortlessly, perhaps the most straightforward endeavor we have undertaken. We have never had a dispute.”
George and Amal, a respected human rights lawyer, exchanged vows in 2014.
Amal, who shares twins George and Ella with the actor, spoke about their happy marriage, saying, “I believe it takes 99 percent good fortune to encounter the correct partner.” She continued, “The main lesson we learned is to avoid cynicism, to remain receptive. I was surprised by how unguarded you were, and everything progressed very quickly.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
In December 2025, NFL player Travis Kelce hosted George Clooney on his “New Heights” podcast, asking the Jay Kelly actor if he was perhaps exaggerating about his claim of never having arguments with Amal Clooney. George responded definitively, “No, I speak truthfully. Travis, perhaps we should pose the same query to you?”
Since summer 2023, Kelce has been romantically involved with pop sensation Taylor Swift, with their engagement occurring two years afterward.
Kelce admitted, “Indeed, it has only been two and a half years, and you are correct, I have not had a single disagreement. Not a single instance.”
George then observed that neither man could possibly win a verbal confrontation with Swift or Amal, rendering fighting pointless in the first place.
George remarked, “I am 64 years old; what remains to argue over now? I encountered this amazing woman; she is beautiful, intelligent, and advocates for all the values I hold dearest. I am astonished by my good fortune, so why would I seek conflict?”
Travis and his older brother, podcast cohost Jason Kelce, indicated they were "learning lessons" from George's viewpoint. (Jason wed Kylie Kelce in 2018; Kylie shared on her own podcast that month that they have experienced several disagreements throughout their marriage.)
Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz
Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz married in 2010 and credit the longevity of their partnership to avoiding arguments entirely.
Swizz told Us Weekly exclusively in March 2025, “Marriage is a profound term, but approach it as you would your closest friend. Communication flows easily. We have never had a disagreement. Since we became a couple, our children have never witnessed conflict; never heard us elevate our voices or shout. Never seen us use expletives against each other. The reason? Communication.”
However, Keys and Swizz, parents to two sons, do experience differing opinions.
The producer emphasized to Us that they express differing viewpoints without raising their voices: “When you scream at one another, no one truly hears anything. Nothing is resolved during shouting matches. People mistakenly believe they can possess another person. You cannot. They are not property to own. They are a complete human being. We understand this clearly. She is autonomous. I am autonomous. That dynamic allows us to create greatness when we collaborate.”
Swizz concluded, “I believe this approach helps because individuals often become territorial and treat their partner as property, which I consider to be the most significant error.”

In April 2025, George Clooney appeared again on CBS Mornings, where he stated he has never managed to find “anything to dispute” with his spouse.
He attributed his lack of arguments with the British attorney to starting the relationship later in life: “I believe it&rsquos because I began this journey with Amal so late.”
“I feel exceptionally fortunate to have encountered this remarkable woman, and I sense that I have won the grand prize. Every day passes where I don’t reflect on being the most blessed man in existence.”
Demi Lovato and Jordan ‘Jutes’ Lutes
Musicians Demi Lovato and Jordan Lutes began their relationship in 2022 after working together on Lovato’s album, Holy Fvck. They became engaged the following year and married in May 2025. During this period, Lovato and Lutes have never raised their voices at each other.
Speaking on The Zach Sang Show in December 2025, Lutes noted, “Everyone informs me that conflict is an inherent part of dating or marriage. We genuinely never quarrel, absolutely never. It has become a recurring joke to wonder if we are about to have our first fight over something trivial. It’s a joke because we avoid conflict completely. I suppose I am extremely fortunate, as we lack a reason to fight. We consistently support one another in every situation.”
Mel Owens and Peg Munson
Mel Owens concluded season 2 of The Golden Bachelor, broadcast in 2025, in an exclusive relationship with Peg Munson. They finished their journey within the Bachelor franchise without immediate plans for engagement or having any disagreements.
Munson commented on the “Dear Shandy” podcast in December 2025, “We are 62 years old; there are no grounds for conflict. Older individuals should not fight, because frankly, there&rsquos nothing left to argue over. If you are arguing, then you must be slightly crazy; seriously. All the difficult work is finished, so there is nothing to fight about.”
Owens explained that he attributes their harmonious relationship to having “shared hobbies.”
Owens elaborated, “I create my playlists, thinking, 'I know she will enjoy this playlist,' and she did. We come from similar experiences, and she constantly dances. I think, 'This is exactly the woman for me.' It is truly a lot of enjoyment.”
