Gia Giudice Embraces Independence After "Special Forces" Transformative Experience
At 24, Gia Giudice, the eldest child of Teresa Giudice, is preparing to move out and live independently.
"I believe it's perfectly acceptable to reside with your parents for as long as you choose, and the decision to depart and assume those obligations rests entirely with you," Gia shared in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly at the iHeart Radio Music Festival on Saturday, September 20. "There was no pressure on me. I had no deadline. My mother is not forcing me to leave."
Following her college graduation, Gia moved back into the New Jersey home of her mother, Teresa, 53, and her stepfather, Luis “Louie” Ruelas, staying until she felt prepared for her next chapter — a transition that now appears imminent.
"Currently, I'm searching for an apartment. I anticipate moving out in the coming month," Gia, who is one of Teresa’s four daughters with ex-husband Joe Giudice, revealed to Us. "I'm looking forward to experiencing this period of solitude and self-sufficiency, gaining a fresh outlook on things like daily work and travel. I'm incredibly eager for that."

Although Gia is prepared to secure her own residence, she expressed no regrets about remaining at home post-graduation.
"Residing with family is never a negative thing," the Next Gen NYC personality stated at the Las Vegas event, advising fellow recent college graduates. "Accumulate your savings, particularly at this time. I recently heard news that home interest rates have reportedly dropped by around 2.2 percent. Things are moving in a favorable direction, so perhaps in about a year, I'll be in a position to purchase a home."
As Gia prepares for her newfound independence, her close bond with her parents is expected to endure. Indeed, Gia and Teresa recently collaborated on Fox’s reality series, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
"I'm incredibly enthusiastic for the debut of Special Forces. It's airing in just five days," Gia commented on her participation in season 4 of the demanding military-themed challenge. "I believe it presents everyone in a fresh way; it's unvarnished, authentic, and truly represented one of the most intense and difficult experiences I've ever undergone."
Gia further hinted that Special Forces would provide viewers with "a glimpse" into her developing relationship with her mother.
"My mother and I had extensive discussions about subjects we likely hadn't addressed before, primarily due to being isolated from external influences," Gia remarked concerning the Real Housewives of New Jersey personality. "It was just the two of us, alongside the other participants. I felt the most at ease with my mother, and we conversed a great deal about releasing burdens, and this experience on Special Forces proved incredibly beneficial for letting go of resentment and focusing on self-care. I conquered numerous personal challenges during Special Forces, including my anxiety, feelings of being overwhelmed, and self-doubt. … It genuinely was a transformative experience and program."
The fourth season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test is scheduled to debut on Fox on Thursday, September 25, at 9 p.m. ET.
