Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner Sells Indiana Home Where Romance With Theresa Nist Blossomed
Former Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner has successfully secured an offer for his Indiana residence, merely four months after its initial listing.
As reported by a Realtor.com piece from Wednesday, November 5, the esteemed reality personality's lakeside dwelling is currently subject to a contingent offer, indicating that the 74-year-old Mr. Turner “has accepted a proposal, yet specific prerequisites must be fulfilled prior to the finalization of the transaction.”
The four-bedroom, 2,624-square-foot estate belonging to Gerry was initially introduced to the market at an asking price of $739,900, as detailed by the publication. Subsequently, within a few weeks, its valuation saw a reduction to $719,900.
This particular residence gained notoriety as the backdrop to Gerry’s ultimately unsuccessful romantic pursuit with Theresa Nist. The estranged pair's connection blossomed during the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor in 2023.
A source confirms that Golden Bachelor Gerry and his then-wife Theresa have yet to cohabit.
Mr. Turner and Ms. Nist, aged 72, exchanged vows in a televised event in January 2024, only to announce their separation a mere three months thereafter.
Initially, Gerry had intended to vacate his Indiana abode, with the then-engaged couple planning a joint relocation to Charleston, South Carolina. (At that juncture, Theresa resided in New Jersey.)
Ms. Nist disclosed to People in December 2024 that she too had designs on divesting her own estate, paving the way for a shared fresh start in Charleston.
“Such was our intention,” she conveyed to the publication then. “I was in the process of selling my residence; he, his.”
Within the interview, Theresa asserted that Gerry had expressed his “displeasure” with his Indiana dwelling and was actively seeking a new domicile, prior to his cancer diagnosis which prompted a change of heart.
“However, upon his return home, Gerry somewhat reconsidered his stance,” she recounted. “He proposed, ‘Instead, let's alternate between six weeks here and six weeks there.’ This was not my desire. My true aspiration was for a unified home. I yearned for the delight of cohabiting and collaboratively furnishing a space. I genuinely believed that prospect would be extraordinary; I anticipated it with immense eagerness.”
According to Ms. Nist, their exploration of potential homes in Charleston was exclusively digital, never culminating in a physical visit to any property.
“We never materialized that step, and consequently, it never came to fruition,” Theresa lamented. “Thus, an alternative approach would have involved an actual journey to South Carolina to view properties firsthand, rather than solely relying on online presentations, which proved insufficient.”
“I believe the momentum simply waned as we perused homes back and forth without reaching a consensus. Subsequently, the correspondence ceased, and our search concluded.”
Golden Bachelor Gerry and his former spouse Theresa have formally executed their divorce settlement agreement.
Amidst his health challenges and the publicized complexities of his romantic life, Gerry unveiled his memoir, titled Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV, on Tuesday, November 4.
Within the pages of his literary work, Gerry offered an unvarnished account of his bond with Theresa, disclosing the intricacies of its dissolution.
“I was brimming with untold narratives regarding events that remained unseen, alongside sentiments about certain cast members that I had privately harbored,” he confided exclusively to Us Weekly last month.
He further elaborated, “I resolved, ‘It is time to endeavor to recount the complete saga, not merely the segments deemed palatable for public consumption.’ Yet, as I delved deeper into the undertaking, I recognized a desire to reconnect with the original aspirations from the program — to remain receptive to new prospects, to savor life, and to embrace any potential advantage, irrespective of advancing age.”
