Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple finally move in together in New York City.
The engaged couple, Joan Vassos of Golden Bachelorette fame and her partner Chock Chapple, are moving forward with a significant milestone in their relationship.
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly at iHeartRadio’s 102.7 KIIS FM Jingle Ball on Friday, December 5, Joan, 62, shared insights into her and Chock's decision to "finally" cohabitate, noting, “We didn't anticipate the challenges of securing a rental in New York or how packed our schedules would become.”
She elaborated, “Our decision to relocate at the beginning of December was motivated by the desire to fully experience the magic of New York City during the holidays.”
Joan disclosed that she is moving her possessions from Maryland, her home state, on Monday, December 8.
Golden Bachelorette's Joan and Chock Are Moving to NYC: 'Dream Come True'
As Joan detailed to Us, “Chock will be arriving on Thursday.” She added, “I have friends assisting with the move-in process, and we plan to stay until January 7. Hopefully, by then, we will have secured a permanent residence.”
The pair, both 62, connected during the premiere season of ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette in 2024, where their journey concluded with a picturesque oceanside proposal. Despite their engagement, the couple has proceeded deliberately regarding both their wedding date and cohabitation. (Joan resides in Maryland, while Chock's home base is Kansas.)
This measured approach, combined with a perceived scarcity of shared content on Instagram, has fueled fan speculation regarding the state of their relationship.
Addressing the rumors on the Intuit Dome red carpet in California, Joan playfully remarked to Us, “It’s wild how quickly people assume we've ended things if I don't post.” She added, “While I sometimes feel external pressure, Chock and I have reached a level of comfort that has led me to break the habit of constantly posting updates about us.”
She continued, “Early on, I recognized the necessity of consistently reassuring everyone that we were doing well, but I haven’t maintained that level of communication. When I slack off, the rumors about a breakup start circulating, despite us being very much together.”
Chock Chapple Gives Update on His and Joan Vassos’ Wedding Date
Joan emphasized that she and Chock are perfectly content living their lives away from social media, frequently forgetting to share updates altogether.
Reflecting on the unexpected public scrutiny of her online presence, Joan mused, “It’s perplexing that people are so invested in my posts. I initially focused on sharing recipes, which I understand because I also enjoy finding new ones. However, the requests quickly shifted to my outfits. I’m certainly not a style authority, so it's quite flattering that people want to know what I wear and hear my thoughts.”
Prior to finalizing her move to New York for this new phase with Chock, Joan traveled to the West Coast to attend iHeartRadio’s annual Jingle Ball concert.
“This marks the official start of my holiday season,” Joan stated. “I enjoy being here with all the festive decorations, the celebrities, and seeing everyone's stylish ensembles. It’s also an opportunity to reunite with my fellow Bachelor cast members, as we typically have a large group present, making it a very enjoyable event.”
