Goldie Hawn's Understated 80th Birthday Bash: Family Surprises Reign Supreme
The family of Goldie Hawn is preparing an elaborate celebration for her significant 80th birthday, scheduled for Friday, November 21st.
"We would have made any arrangements she wished. It was entirely her choice," her eldest son, Oliver Hudson, shared exclusively with Us Weekly during the promotion of his new Magnolia Network show, Gingerbread Land: The Biggest Holiday Competition. "Even if she desired to travel to the moon, we would have found a way, but she possesses an understated nature."
Hawn is mother to Oliver, 49, and daughter Kate Hudson, 46, from her previous marriage to Bill Hudson, and to son Wyatt Russell, 39, with her enduring partner Kurt Russell. (Kurt, 74, also has a son, Boston Russell, 45, from an earlier relationship.)
"Her wish is simply to be with her family, and that is precisely what we are facilitating," Oliver conveyed to Us regarding the upcoming celebrations. "There are numerous delightful surprises we’ve arranged that she is unaware of, but the gathering will remain exclusively for close family."

Oliver hinted that his extended family had an abundance of concepts to honor the acclaimed Oscar winner on her momentous occasion.
"We have plans for some golf-related activities, culinary experts, and possibly live music," he disclosed to Us. "We have several elements in place, but the attendees will strictly be family members."
Hawn's relatives were prompt in acknowledging her significant day across social media platforms.
"Condensing the half-century of her life that I've experienced into a brief caption feels unachievable. I have been blessed to receive volumes of affection and insight from her," Kate posted on Instagram, accompanying several nostalgic photographs on Friday. "She is genuinely remarkable, and while I celebrate her daily, today offers an opportunity for all of us to partake!"
The star of Song Sung Blue concluded her message, "Kindly join me in extending immense Happy Birthday wishes to this 80-year-old regal deity! We adore you, Mama."
A number of Hawn and Kate's esteemed acquaintances from the entertainment industry also commemorated the occasion in the comments.
"Fellow Scorpio, Goldie!!!! Sending abundant love and gratitude," Rita Wilson commented, while supermodel Karlie Kloss referred to Hawn as a "regal goddess."
Hawn and Russell have consistently fostered a profound and loving bond with their offspring and grandchildren.
"I cannot envision the person I would be without my mother. It's truly inconceivable," Oliver effused in a past 2024 episode of his and Kate’s "Sibling Revelry" podcast. "My adoration, admiration, and profound respect for her transcend all bounds."

Several months afterward, Oliver elaborated on his relationship with Kurt.
"Kurt entered my life when I was approximately five or six years old, and he largely took on the role of my upbringing. I attribute the man I am today to him, wouldn't you agree?" Oliver recollected during a November 2024 episode of the podcast. "At one point, he inquired if Kate and I wished to be adopted, and we declined. … I don't recall our exact age, but our reasoning was simply, 'We don't require it; the affection is already present.'"
This profound affection has, understandably, permeated into the subsequent generation.
"They are truly the most exceptional and wonderful grandparents," Wyatt’s wife, Meredith Hagner, shared with Us in August 2024. "Their residence is just a short distance from ours, making it essentially a second home for my children. They maintain a perpetually filled cookie jar, the location of which my son is well aware, and a toy chest constantly overflowing with playthings."
