Harry Styles Blasts Through Berlin Marathon Under Three Hours Incognito
Music icon Harry Styles successfully completed the Berlin Marathon this past Sunday, September 21, achieving a time under three hours, largely incognito by using an assumed name.
According to the Associated Press, race officials verified to German news outlet DPA that the 31-year-old Styles was indeed a participant. News of the singer's involvement was initially broken by the German publication Der Tagesspiegel.
The acclaimed "As It Was" vocalist achieved a remarkable finish time in Sunday's event, crossing the marathon's finish line in an impressive 2 hours, 59 minutes, and 13 seconds.
Styles largely eluded detection throughout the marathon, sporting a headband and sunglasses, and reportedly registered for the race under the alias Sted Sarandos, as reported by ABC News. This false name seems to be a clever reference to Ted Sarandos, who serves as Netflix's co-CEO.

Nevertheless, the erstwhile One Direction member wasn't entirely successful in remaining unnoticed. Paralympic gold medalist Richard Whitehead managed to capture a picture with Styles at the finish area. The photograph shows the musician dressed in black shorts and a blue Adidas athletic jacket.
“2.58 in Berlin with my mate!! Anyone know him!! ,” the 49-year-old Whitehead wrote alongside an Instagram post he shared on Sunday.
Styles had previously experienced a similar athletic triumph when he participated in the Tokyo Marathon back in March, an event that was widely publicized through viral social media videos.
The celebrity completed that particular race in slightly less than three and a half hours (specifically, three hours, 24 minutes, and 7 seconds) maintaining a consistent pace of 4:51 per kilometer.

The athletic vocalist has previously discussed his fitness regimen, which incorporates Pilates sessions. “My hamstrings are quite constricted — I’m working on increasing their flexibility,” he mentioned in a 2020 Vogue interview.
Styles also revealed his meditation practice. “It has transformed my existence, yet its impact is very understated. It has assisted me in becoming more attentive. I find myself more capable of appreciating current moments, whether it’s consuming a meal, savoring coffee, spending time with a companion, or swimming in a particularly chilly body of water,” he expressed.
He further elaborated, “Meditation simply introduces a tranquility that I believe has been profoundly advantageous for my mental well-being.”
During a January 2024 discussion with Coach magazine, Thibo David, Styles' performance trainer, indicated that the celebrated artist is capable of running a mile in five minutes.
“Avoid starting with the mindset, ‘He achieved it in five minutes, so I must do likewise,’ simply persist,” David advised the publication. “Focus on nothing else; your achievement is uniquely yours. …Working alongside Harry Styles was a complete pleasure. His dedication is unmatched.”
