Hayley Erbert learns ASL to deliver heartfelt toast to groom Daniel Durant at DWTS wedding
Former Dancing With the Stars contestant Hayley Erbert dedicated herself to learning American Sign Language (ASL) so she could communicate personally with Daniel Durant during her toast at his marriage to Britt Stewart.
"Daniel, your presence illuminates Britt more vividly than ever before," Erbert, 30, expressed in a social media clip on Monday, September 22. "You serve as her ideal equilibrium, providing steadfastness and stability. Yet, you encourage her to embrace her complete self. You've even revealed an athletic facet I genuinely believed I'd never witness. My gratitude goes out to you for cherishing my closest friend precisely as her wonderful spirit merits."
Erbert performed her matron of honor responsibilities with great dedication while supporting DWTS professional Stewart, 36, who wed Durant, 35, the previous month.
“A few weeks prior, @hayley.erbert was privileged to stand by @brittbenae as her maid of honor,” Erbert’s spouse, Derek Hough, wrote in the caption accompanying the video on Monday. “Hayley wished to acquire some ASL to address Daniel personally during her address. Witnessing her accomplish this with such profound affection and diligence deeply moved me.”

Hough, 40, filmed his wife as she rehearsed ASL throughout their home and at the fitness center. Spectators were also able to view her complete address.
“It’s truly incredible,” Hough remarked at a certain moment. “It evokes strong emotions within me to observe you performing that.”

Erbert delivered her address on the evening preceding the nuptials.
“Being by your side tomorrow will represent one of life's most immense delights,” she conveyed, visibly moved.
Stewart's acquaintance with Durant began when they were paired for the 31st season of DWTS in 2022. The couple disclosed their romance in February 2023, and by December of the same year, they were engaged. Durant proposed on Christmas Day amidst loved ones during an excursion in Lake Arrowhead, California.

The pair exchanged vows at Riata Ranch in Santa Margarita, California, on August 23. Numerous DWTS professionals attended, such as Julianne Hough, Jenna Johnson, Rylee Arnold, Ezra Sosa, Emma Slater, Alan Bersten, Daniella Karagach, Brandon Armstrong, and Witney Carson, to name a few.
“I was never the young girl who harbored grand aspirations of a storybook wedding,” Stewart shared with People regarding the matrimonial event. “Therefore, when I depict our wedding, I aim for it to evoke a profound sense of affection unifying every attendee!”
Durant further remarked, "I could never have envisioned what my wedding would entail, and it still possesses a somewhat dreamlike quality. Yet, it's tangible. It's unfolding!"
