Heather Rae El Moussa Opens Up About Marriage Therapy and Her New Clean Beauty Brand

Heather Rae El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa are navigating the complexities of their marital relationship alongside parenting their son, Tristan, who is two years old.

“It's an ongoing effort,” shared Heather Rae, 38, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly on Wednesday, October 8, during the promotion of her new clean beauty brand, Heather Rae Essentials. “I believe all marriages are continuously evolving. You spend every day with your partner.”

Heather Rae further noted that she doesn't believe “a single fix or solution exists” to restore their relationship to its pre-baby state. Instead, she emphasizes concentrating on her and Tarek's robust foundation and “recalling the reasons behind their initial connection.”

“Tarek and I consider ourselves best friends. We truly enjoy each other's company. We share laughter constantly,” she elaborated. “I feel that initially, you're deeply bonded as you discover various aspects of each other, but I think as time passes, people neglect to continue learning about their partner; they stop dating and inquiring about one another.”

Heather Rae disclosed that attending therapy sessions has also helped her and Tarek feel “a stronger bond.”

“It allowed us to discuss challenging topics that might have been difficult to address at home,” she mused. “Thus, in our therapy [session], where we experience a greater sense of security to express, ‘This is truly how I feel,’ we receive guidance, and [our therapist] is present to facilitate the conversation, which I believe ultimately strengthens our connection.”

Heather Rae attributed their relationship's stability to her and Tarek's capacity for open communication, shared humor, and taking time away together.

Their lives underwent significant transformation after Heather Rae and Tarek welcomed Tristan in January 2023. Although Tarek is also a father to Taylor and Brayden from his previous marriage to Christina Haack, he and Heather Rae found themselves juggling the care of the older children with tending to their infant and shooting their television series, The Flip Off.

“Tristan was born with a severe tongue tie, a recessed jaw, and suffered from jaundice. I was handling all these challenges while conducting interviews, filming a TV show, and caring for the other children. Tarek, meanwhile, adopted a 'divide and conquer' strategy,” Heather Rae elaborated. “He would attend soccer games with the older children. I would remain home with Tristan, breastfeeding, and trying to manage his needs.

Despite being apart due to their individual obligations, Heather Rae recounted that she and Tarek eventually reconnected and tackled all challenges as a united front.

With a period of calm returning to the El Moussa residence, Heather Rae has launched her newest endeavor: Heather Rae Essentials. Having spent considerable time in the public eye, Heather Rae revealed her decision to enter the cosmetics and personal care industry, spurred by her experience with “numerous different products” available. Her clean beauty range encompasses various items, from lip glosses to body washes.

“I am completely enamored with my products. I incorporate them into my daily routine, but the essential, must-have lip gloss, 'Angel Kisses,' is a must-try for everyone,” she informed Us. “The remarkable feature of these lip glosses is their layerability. I had never combined lip glosses until I developed my own brand.”

Heather Rae also mentioned that Tarek is a significant advocate for her lip glosses.

“They suit him quite well. He doesn't typically wear lip gloss daily, but in our personal life and as a gesture of support for me, he does wear it,” she expressed enthusiastically.

Although several of Heather Rae’s “popular among fans” items are currently unavailable, she indicated that she is “diligently working” to replenish their stock. She also hinted at the possibility of future product introductions.

“I incorporated all the knowledge I've acquired over the years, combining it with my expertise as an aesthetician, into these formulations. This marks merely the inception. It is simply the commencement,” she subtly suggested. “Much more is on the horizon, but my primary goal was to develop products that I personally utilize.”
