Hollywood Producer Sentenced to 146 Years to Life for Fentanyl-Related Murders and Sexual Assaults

Hollywood film producer David Brian Pearce has received his sentence in connection with the fentanyl-related deaths of two women.

Pearce was found guilty in February 2025 on two charges of first-degree murder for the fatalities of model Christy Giles and Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola. During his sentencing in October 2025, Pearce was additionally convicted on multiple sexual assault counts, as stated in a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office at that time.

Throughout the trial, the jury determined Pearce to be guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of forcible rape, two counts of sexual penetration by force, one count of sodomy by use of force, and one count of raping an unconscious woman, the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office confirmed.

The Encounter: David Brian Pearce, Christy Giles, and Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola

Prosecutors alleged in an October 2025 trial that Pearce met Giles and Cabrales-Arzola at a warehouse event in Los Angeles in November 2021. It was claimed that upon returning to his Beverly Hills residence with them, Pearce supplied GHB and fentanyl, which "led to the fatal overdoses of Giles and Cabrales-Arzola," according to an official statement.

Reports indicate that Pearce transported Giles and Cabrales-Arzola to separate medical facilities the following day. Giles, at 24 years old, was deceased upon arrival. Cabrales-Arzola, though revived initially, passed away 11 days later at the age of 26, as asserted by the prosecution.

Details of David Brian Pearce’s Prison Term

In October 2025, Pearce received a prison sentence ranging from 146 years to life. Additionally, he is mandated to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

“This ruling provides overdue justice for Ms. Cabrales-Arzola, Ms. Giles, and the brave individuals who came forward as sexual assault victims to provide testimony,” stated Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman. “Beyond enduring sexual assault, Ms. Cabrales-Arzola and Ms. Giles tragically lost their lives through one of the most destructive means — a fentanyl-related sexual assault perpetrated by Pearce. I extend my gratitude to Deputy District Attorneys Catherine Mariano and Seth Carmack, and everyone within the Sex Crimes Division and the Los Angeles Police Department who contributed to this prosecution; their unwavering commitment led to this result.”

Hochman further remarked, “This incident serves as a grim illustration of fentanyl's destructive impact. Those who poison and exploit others with fentanyl will face consequences. Each successful prosecution and sentence, such as this, brings us closer to discouraging such criminal acts and safeguarding others from comparable tragedies.”

David Brian Pearce’s Response to the Verdict

Following Pearce's sentencing in October 2025, his attorney, Ronda Dixon, issued a statement to Entertainment Weekly asserting that there was “no conclusive proof” that her client supplied the substances responsible for the deaths of Giles and Marcela.

“My sympathies are with their families during this painful time of losing a loved one to a fentanyl overdose. Nevertheless, the district attorney’s message delivered today sends a troubling signal to individuals acting as good Samaritans attempting to aid an overdose victim. It is undeniable that people will now hesitate before transporting someone they suspect is experiencing an overdose to a hospital,” Dixon commented.

Additional Charges in the David Brian Pearce Investigation

Brant Osborn, who was also named as a defendant in the proceedings, faced two counts of being an accessory to murder subsequent to the crime. A judge declared a mistrial in February after the jury could not arrive at a unanimous verdict regarding these accusations. A fresh trial is anticipated to commence in November 2025.
