Human Barbie Doll's suspicious death investigated as murder following overdose ruling.
The suspicious passing of influencer Bárbara Jankavski, commonly referred to as the "Human Barbie Doll," is now the subject of an official investigation.
News emerged in November regarding the influencer's death at age 31. On social media, she was known by the alias "Boneca Desumana," which translates to "inhuman doll," in addition to her popular nickname, "Human Barbie Doll."
According to a police report obtained by CNN Brasil, Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto, a 51-year-old public defender, provided testimony confirming he was present with Jankavski on the evening of her passing. He also alleged that he had retained her for "sexual services," claiming that they both consumed illicit substances during their interaction.
He reported observing that Jankavski had stopped moving shortly after falling asleep, prompting him to contact the Mobile Emergency Care Service. He attempted to resuscitate her for nine minutes until medical personnel arrived at the scene and confirmed her death.
CNN Brasil reported, citing the São Paulo State Military Police, that when authorities discovered Jankavski's body, she was dressed only in underwear. Furthermore, she allegedly displayed an injury near her left eye and marks on her back.
The police report stated that the injury on her face was allegedly sustained in a prior accident where she fell. The case itself was registered under suspicious circumstances.

Family's Response to Barbara Jankavski’s Official Cause of Death
After the findings were released, both the family and the Public Prosecutor’s Office put forth allegations that Jankavski might have been murdered. As a result, a court has reportedly ordered the investigation to be transferred to the Homicide and Personal Protection Department.
Potential Exhumation of Barbara Jankavski’s Remains
Prosecutors have formally requested the exhumation of Jankavski’s body to ascertain whether her death on November 2 was a homicide resulting from asphyxiation.
As reported by local outlet g1, the São Paulo Court of Justice issued an order to transfer the investigation to the Homicide and Personal Protection Department, a specific unit of Brazil’s Civil Police dedicated to homicide investigations.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office had previously suggested that Jankavski’s death was a murder, directly contradicting initial police findings which concluded she died from accidental cocaine use.
