Jack Schlossberg Honors Late Sister Tatiana's Legacy with Moving Tribute

Jack Schlossberg is speaking out for the first time regarding the sudden loss of his sister, Tatiana Schlossberg.

Jack, 32, turned to Instagram on Monday, January 5, to post a memorial for his late sister. The post featured several inspirational passages, including one penned by Tatiana herself.

“It is our responsibility to build a nation that prioritizes its commitments to the planet, to one another, and to the generations who will inherit a world significantly different from the one we’ve known for the past ten millennia,” Tatiana wrote in her 2019 book, Inconspicuous Consumption.

The passage continued, “Essentially, this involves dedicated effort with the possibility of limited achievement throughout one’s lifetime. However, it is a task we must undertake, and at least we will find solace in knowing we contributed to making things better.”

Jack also incorporated quotes from his and Tatiana’s grandfather, former president John F. Kennedy, as well as Herman Melville, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Buddha, Abraham Lincoln, Robert Frost and others. The final image in Jack’s post was a nostalgic photograph of the siblings.

News emerged at the end of December 2025 that Tatiana had died after a prolonged struggle with cancer. She was 35 years old.

“Our beloved Tatiana passed away this morning. She will forever remain in our hearts,” the JFK Library Foundation announced on December 30, 2025, in a statement released via Instagram, signed by Tatiana’s husband George Moran, children Edwin, 3, and Josephine, 19, parents Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, siblings, Jack and Rose Schlossberg and sister-in-law Rory Schlossberg.

Just one month prior to her tragic death, Tatiana disclosed in an essay for The New Yorker that she had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and given a prognosis of only one year to live.

“I simply did not — could not — believe they were referring to me. I had completed a mile swim in the pool the day before, nine months pregnant. I wasn’t ill. I didn’t feel unwell. I was, in fact, one of the healthiest individuals I knew,” she wrote in November 2025. “I had a son whom I cherished above all else and a newborn I needed to care for.”

Following the announcement of Tatiana’s passing, numerous members of the Kennedy family offered their condolences to the late environmental journalist.

“I am unable to comprehend this. I cannot make any sense of it whatsoever. None. Zero,” Tatiana’s cousin Maria Shriver wrote via Instagram. “Tatiana was an exceptional journalist, and she utilized her writing to educate others about the environment and how to protect it. She created a wonderful life with her remarkable husband George, and children Eddie and Josie. She fought with the spirit of a warrior. She was brave, resilient [and] courageous.”

Earlier on Monday, the Kennedy family convened in New York City for Tatiana’s memorial service. The private ceremony was held at The Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola on the Upper East Side. Moran, Edwin, Josephine and others were present.

On the same day, the Kennedy family shared a previously unseen photograph of Tatiana posing with her loved ones before her death.

“As we remember Tatiana and celebrate her life, our thoughts are with her family and all those who loved her,” read the caption of an Instagram post shared by the JFK Library Foundation.
