Jaime King and Vikram Chatwal's Appearances Were Just a Business Discussion, Source Says

Jaime King’s recent reported appearances with hotelier Vikram Chatwal were not romantic, a spokesperson for the Hart of Dixie alumna exclusively tells Us Weekly.

Following reports that King, 46, and Chatwal, 54, were seen together in Los Angeles, King’s representative says that the pair are “simply friends.”

“They were attending a business discussion,” the representative stated, noting that King is “very content in her relationship” with fiancé Austin Sosa.

The clarification comes after Page Six reported on Monday, January 5, that King and Vikram — who is the son of hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal — had recently been observed appearing comfortable together at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. They were also reportedly spotted together at Bombay Palace restaurant, which was initially opened by Vikram’s father.

Vikram was previously married to socialite Priya Sachdev from 2006 to 2011.

For her part, King became engaged to investment banker Sosa in July, her representative confirmed to People at the time.

The White Chicks star later shared with Us exclusively how grateful she felt for this phase in her life.

“I feel as though my engagement is to myself, in the most positive sense,” King told Us in October 2025. “To me, an engagement is truly about a love for oneself.”

King continued, “I’m simply very excited for this new period in my life. The individual that I’m engaged to, I cherish deeply.”

King also recalled immediately knowing that Sosa was The One when they “connected through mutual acquaintances” in December 2024.

“When I saw him, I thought, ‘You’re going to be my boyfriend.’ He responded, ‘Wait, what?’” she explained. “I believe it somewhat surprised him. And then the second time, I said, ‘You’re going to be my boyfriend.’ Which is such a peculiar thing to say. It seems so immature, but I simply looked [at him], I thought, ‘Oh, no, that’s going to be my person.’”

King added that she was drawn to Sosa because of their shared principles.

“Loving to me is not merely a romantic gesture. It’s observing someone and thinking, ‘Oh, they’ll support me and I’ll support them, and we’ll have fun together. We’ll look after each other,” she explained. “There’s loyalty. There’s just an integrity about him that is uncommon.”

While King is enthusiastic about spending her life with Sosa, she revealed that she didn’t want to rush directly into wedding preparations. Instead, she chose to prioritize her sons, James Knight, 12, and Leo Thames, 10, whom she shares with ex-husband Kyle Newman. (The pair finalized their divorce in 2023.)

“My primary focus is them,” the mother of two continued. “So my primary focus is not necessarily organizing some elaborate event. My focus is spending time with them, enjoying my time with them. Enjoying their time with Austin and our other friends who love them so dearly. It would be too singular of a focus to make it solely about a wedding.”

King added, “My whole life, all I ever wanted was to have a family unit, to be married, to have a partnership, you know, to be of service in that manner. It’s very important to me. I’m eclectic and traditional at the same time. And so, it sincerely matters to me. My intention is to journey through this world with extraordinary joy, companionship and togetherness. And the way that I experience that is with my children and within family.”
