Jason Kelce Shares Heartbreaking Story of Wife Kylie's Past Pregnancy Loss
Jason Kelce is sharing details regarding a pregnancy loss experienced by his wife, Kylie Kelce, seven years prior.
"I recall stepping away to my vehicle amidst training sessions and conferences, consumed by sorrow and profound feelings," the 38-year-old Jason recounted on Wednesday, December 3, during his acceptance of the March of Dimes Sports Achievement Award at the organization's 43rd Annual Sports Luncheon in New York City.
According to People magazine, the former Philadelphia Eagles athlete remarked, "In such instances, you truly grasp the immense value of athletics [and] the strength of camaraderie. Numerous individuals — coaches, teammates, staff within the Eagles organization, and our friends — reached out to me, revealing the true widespread nature of this issue. Miscarriages occur with considerable frequency. And yet, it's a topic that, in many cases, often remains unspoken and unaddressed."
Jason described the event as "utterly heartbreaking," and emphasized that receiving support and understanding they were "not isolated in this" had a "profound effect" on both him and Kylie, 33.

He concluded by expressing gratitude to individuals who have dedicated "their time, assets, effort [and] fervor" to the March of Dimes, a foundation dedicated to maternal and infant well-being.
"The efforts undertaken by the March of Dimes are not theoretical," Jason stated. "It's not merely [a] statistical matter. This involves families. This involves children, this involves infants. Therefore, the assistance everyone present is offering to households and caregivers nationwide merits significant recognition. I am deeply thankful for your presence. I am grateful for this honor."
Kylie had presented her husband, inviting him onto the stage. During October, recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, she revealed on her "Not Gonna Lie" podcast that she received a positive pregnancy test result in August 2018. A few months following this, on Jason's birthday, November 5, she discovered that she had miscarried.
"I chose to provide additional specifics because after my miscarriage, I observed many individuals stepping forward to offer solace and expressions of encouragement or affection," she stated then. "Consequently, they disclosed that they, too, had undergone similar losses. It's noteworthy how often it requires you to endure a loss for others to begin sharing their own experiences."
The Relationship Journey of Jason Kelce and His Wife Kylie Kelce
Kylie, who currently has four daughters with Jason — Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finn, 8 months — became visibly emotional as she recounted their initial joy. She discovered the miscarriage during her 12-week check-up.
"It seemed as if time itself decelerated. And the baby's presence couldn't be detected on the Doppler," she explained. "I recall thinking, 'Oh, there's no cardiac activity. You couldn't locate it because it's absent.' Physicians estimated that the fetus had ceased development somewhere between, if I recall correctly, nine and ten weeks. In essence, I had experienced what is commonly termed a missed miscarriage. This signifies that my body had not registered that the gestation was no longer viable."
Kylie wished to "underscore that this grief persists even after raising four children, because it truly does. And it is perfectly normal for individuals who are still navigating their path and haven't yet reached the milestone of, say, encountering the little ones they are creating, I extend my deepest sympathies. To those who have endured loss and have still been fortunate enough to welcome some of their tiny humans, I also offer my condolences, as the pain does not simply disappear."
