Jeff Lazkani Breaks Silence on Selling Sunset Drama Sharing His Truth About Divorce
Jeff Lazkani, the estranged husband of Selling Sunset personality Chelsea Lazkani, has decided to share his version of events regarding their separation.
In an extensive Instagram post shared on Thursday, December 4, Jeff stated, “For the past two years, I have remained silent as false information circulated about myself, my relationship, and my personal life. The media has relentlessly pursued me, but I refused to provide a statement that could be twisted into further inaccuracies. Now, I observe the distorted remarks and the media perpetuating more fabrications, exaggerating narratives to generate content and boost ratings, regardless of the impact on a family.”
Jeff emphasized that he has “never” given an interview since their breakup and condemned the animosity directed at him by “complete strangers” who are viewers of Selling Sunset.
He further remarked, “It is astonishing to me how ideas originating from a reality television program proliferate like toxic fungus on a damp surface. I feel obligated to speak out because I see individuals I have never encountered defending me, while others I have never met send me hateful messages, seemingly to soothe their personal struggles, as if negative emotions somehow bring them solace.”
Before Her Divorce, Selling Sunset's Chelsea Lazkani Alluded to Private Troubles
Jeff stated his intention to “share my truth” in order to “rectify the inaccuracies” surrounding his and Chelsea's separation.
In March 2024, Us Weekly verified that Chelsea initiated divorce proceedings against Jeff, concluding their seven-year marriage. They are parents to Maddox, born in January 2019, and Melia, born in November 2020.
He penned, “Our connection began as an authentic romance; I cherished and respected Chelsea and her loved ones, and that sentiment remains. Together, she and I brought two of the most extraordinary individuals into the world, a blessing for which I am forever thankful.”
Jeff proceeded in his statement by presenting “the factual details” concerning their breakup.
Firstly, he clarified that reality television productions are shot “months” in advance of their broadcast. Without explicitly naming Selling Sunset, Jeff asserted that “reality TV lacks authenticity.” He also criticized the roles of editors and producers.
Jeff alleged, “Their primary objective is to generate conflict, as that is their means of earning income. They are indifferent to who they might harm in pursuit of this goal.”
Jeff confessed to being “somewhat naive and drawn in by the popularity” associated with the program.
Jeff further explained, “After witnessing the inner workings from behind the scenes, I recognized the artificial and detrimental nature of the atmosphere, and withdrew.” He clarified that he and Chelsea currently maintain “a positive relationship” and are prioritizing the shared upbringing of their two children.
He wrote, “Chelsea and I share equal custody of our children and reside in close proximity. And yes, I do financially support my children, which contradicts a recent claim made during the SS reunion show. My children's well-being will always be my utmost priority.” This statement addressed Chelsea’s assertion during the Selling Sunset season 9 reunion that she receives no child support.
A Chronology of the Relationship Between Selling Sunset's Chelsea Lazkani and Jeff Lazkani
Jeff also refuted any claims of infidelity within his and Chelsea's marriage. (During season 8 of Selling Sunset, a segment aired where Bre Tiesi reportedly informed Chelsea that Jeff had allegedly been unfaithful.)
He asserted, “This evolved into an exaggerated plot that misled millions of viewers and the media into fabricating infidelity narratives, portraying me as the antagonist—precisely what a compelling storyline requires. Suffice it to say, my marriage to Chelsea concluded well before these accusations surfaced on a reality television program, due to our private circumstances.”
Jeff further noted, “Even strong marriages can sometimes falter, and it was regrettable. We both endeavored to salvage it, but our romantic journey reached its conclusion. Chelsea and I harbor no animosity towards each other, and I will forever be linked to her through what we value most: the two incredible children we brought into the world.”
Jeff concluded his message by extending New Year wishes to his followers and affirmed that he has definitively moved forward from Chelsea. Reports indicate that Jeff is now involved with Elena MiIentigievits. (Although their divorce proceedings are not yet complete, Chelsea and Jeff were granted legally single status in December 2024.)
He stated, “No quantity of derogatory posts or remarks will alter this fact. Chelsea and I have both progressed, and we are each at liberty to seek love and contentment, which I sincerely desire for her. We are both content within a constructive co-parenting dynamic, and such a relationship requires effort. Ultimately, the focus remains entirely on our children.”
Us Weekly has contacted Chelsea and Netflix for their responses.
