Jen Shah Set for Early Holiday Release After Serving Two and a Half Years
Reality television personality Jen Shah is set to be released in time for the festive season.
As reported by People on Friday, November 21, the former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member will be freed from federal custody on December 10, having completed just two and a half years of her initial six-and-a-half-year term.
In a statement issued to the publication, Shah’s representative, Chris Giovanni, expressed, “The Bureau of Prisons’ decision is met with immense gratitude, particularly as it allows Jen to rejoin her family during the holiday period. This is a privilege she deeply values.”
Giovanni further noted that the 52-year-old Shah is currently “in a very positive and optimistic mental state” as her release date approaches.
“Her time spent away has led to significant introspection and personal evolution, resulting in her becoming a profoundly different individual. Her priorities now revolve around her loved ones and establishing a more balanced, stable existence,” the statement elaborated. “She fully recognizes the gravity of her past errors and is eager to close this chapter, demonstrating to all the person she has diligently striven to become.”

The Federal Bureau of Prisons chose not to provide a statement to People concerning the details of Shah’s impending release.
Shah’s arrest occurred in March 2021, concurrently with her then-assistant Stuart Smith, due to their involvement in a widespread telemarketing fraud operation that targeted numerous individuals over 55 years old. Shah initially refuted her participation, entering a not-guilty plea to the allegations.
The ex-Bravo personality ultimately admitted guilt to the charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in July 2022.
“Between 2012 and March 2021, within the Southern District of New York and other locations, I conspired with others to engage in wire fraud,” Shah stated in a public declaration then. “I understood that my actions were incorrect. I was aware that numerous individuals suffered harm, and I deeply regret it.”
In January 2023, Us Weekly verified that Jen received a sentence of six and a half years of incarceration. She began her term at the Bryan Prison Camp in Texas the subsequent month.

Throughout her incarceration, Shah’s prison term has undergone multiple reductions. Before this recent announcement of her December release, her projected liberation date was set for September 19, 2026.
Shah has maintained communication with her supporters by sharing personal journal entries on her official website.
“Jen has been progressing remarkably — dedicating herself to self-improvement and committed to her path of positive reform,” her representative conveyed in December 2024. “At present, Jen is concentrating on her upcoming festive beauty event within FPC Bryan Prison and consistently extends her affection to her relatives, admirers, and friends who offer ongoing messages of encouragement. She expresses gratitude to all who persist in praying for and supporting her favorably.”
Shah released an additional journal entry this past May, affirming her “shahmazing” well-being while incarcerated.
“My morale is high, and I am in good health,” Shah penned previously. “The unwavering affection and esteem from my advocates, my devoted family, and my spiritual beliefs sustain me as I navigate this restorative process towards my imminent return home.”
