Jerry O'Connell Publicly Praises John Stamos Amidst Past Drama With Rebecca Romijn
Jerry O’Connell expressed only affection for John Stamos, the previous spouse of his wife, Rebecca Romijn.
“First @zohrankmamdani and @realdonaldtrump. Then me and @johnstamos,” the 51-year-old O’Connell posted on Instagram this past Saturday, November 22. This comment alluded to the unexpected encounter between the New York City mayor-elect and the incumbent U.S. president. He continued, “Gorgeous fam and gorgeous people @johnstamos & @caitlinskybound.”
His post also included, “Happy Birthday @howiemandel.”
Both O’Connell and Stamos, who is 62, were present at Mandel’s 62nd birthday celebration this Saturday. For the event, O’Connell was seen in a Toronto Blue Jays jersey, whereas Stamos presented a stylish appearance in a burgundy blazer atop a black button-down shirt. The pair were photographed alongside Stamos’ spouse, Caitlin McHugh, who looked striking in a belted olive-green dress.

“This is what I do. I bring people together,” he commented on Instagram. “You’re welcome.”
Stamos had a well-known marriage to Romijn, 53, lasting from 1998 until 2005, prior to her relationship with O’Connell.
“While elevating Rebecca, I was diminishing myself,” Stamos penned in his 2023 memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, reflecting on their tumultuous marriage. “She emphasized that I was the TV personality, and she was the burgeoning star. … Internally, I began to accept this notion.”
Stamos additionally stated that he and Romijn faced “vicissitudes” in their union as her career and social life became progressively more demanding.
“We were exploring new avenues and evolving, though not in unison,” he wrote, confessing that it became “more challenging to carve out time for one another, to pause, detach from global distractions, and reconnect visually.”
Romijn subsequently asserted that she was “taken by surprise” by the allegations made in Stamos’ book.
“I was genuinely astonished by those revelations, quite frankly,” she informed Entertainment Tonight in January 2024. “It caught me off guard. However, I prefer not to aid in the sale of his books by amplifying those particular headlines. Therefore, that is my complete statement on the matter.”
O’Connell, on his side, likewise stated he received no prior warning regarding the book’s contents.

“My children are 14 years old and they now perceive things as we do,” O’Connell previously stated on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live in November 2023, responding to a question about Stamos likening Romijn to the devil in his memoir. “There’s no concealment, no limitations, no further withholding information from them. It’s quite astonishing when, for instance, your children appear for breakfast and inquire, ‘Hey, Mom, your former husband has released a book where he refers to you as the devil. What are your feelings about that? Why did he label you as such?’”
He proceeded, “That’s where the situation becomes intriguing, and it is intriguing. Nonetheless, we maintain full transparency.”
Stamos, too, has advanced in his personal life, marrying McHugh, 39, in 2018 and celebrating the arrival of their son, Billy, later the same year.
