Jill Duggar's Complex Family Ties Unraveled After Reality TV Exit
From the moment 19 Kids and Counting launched Jill Duggar into public prominence, her relationship with her parents and siblings has been a journey of highs and lows.
The Duggar family first appeared on TLC reality television in 2008. The program was taken off air by the network in May 2015, following revelations that Jill’s brother Josh Duggar had, as a teenager, sexually abused several young girls, including Jill and her sister Jessa Duggar.
In the wake of the controversy, Jill featured alongside many of her siblings in the spin-off show, Counting On. After two years, Jill and her husband Derick Dillard departed from the series in 2017. (TLC ultimately canceled Counting On in 2021 after Josh was convicted for child pornography possession.)
“We were prepared to exit and had strong convictions about doing so. … There are certainly some underlying problems,” Jill revealed exclusively to Us Weekly in February 2021. Following a period of separation, Jill started to reconnect more with her family in 2023.
