John Stamos Defends Lori Loughlin Against Ex Husband Mossimo Giannulli Amidst Split

John Stamos is offering unwavering support to his former Full House costar, Lori Loughlin, following her recent split from husband, Mossimo Giannulli.

“I’ve known her for four decades,” Stamos, 62, remarked about Loughlin, 61, during his appearance on the “Good Guys” podcast, aired on Monday, October 20. “It doesn’t take long to understand someone’s true character. She is truly a good person. My heart goes out to her at this difficult time.”

Although Stamos spoke highly of Loughlin during the podcast, he expressed considerable disapproval for her estranged spouse, alleging that he was the instigator behind Loughlin's involvement in the 2019 college admissions controversy.

“He is an egregious narcissist,” Stamos commented on Giannulli, 62, asserting that Loughlin “endured significant challenges over their time together with him.”

He further stated, “I made every effort to support her throughout this period, especially concerning the college controversy. … I refuse to entertain discussions about her level of involvement; I am certain she was innocent.”

Stamos claimed Giannulli “implicated her in the whole ordeal” and then recounted his reaction upon discovering the estranged pair were being probed for purportedly making payments to secure their daughters', Olivia Jade and Bella, admission to the University of Southern California in 2019.

“She is truthful. She is a paragon of virtue,” Stamos affirmed about Loughlin, disclosing that when he contacted her on the day the controversy surfaced, she informed him, “Mossimo manages those affairs.”

Stamos indicated that Loughlin seemed entirely unaware of the developing situation prior to her and Giannulli's arrest concerning their purported participation.

Loughlin and Giannulli admitted culpability to accusations of wire and mail fraud in 2020, following an initial plea of not guilty. She completed a two-month jail sentence, whereas Giannulli received a five-month prison term. Both individuals underwent two years of probation, fulfilled required community service, and collectively remitted $400,000 in penalties.

“She ends up in fing prison for this ahole for three months, right? And he serves his time. And true to Lori's character, I inquired, ‘How was the experience?’ She responded, ‘Actually, I encountered many pleasant women there. We even had a book club,’” Stamos shared with his audience regarding Loughlin’s perspective on her incarceration.

He asserted, “She should not have been entangled in that situation. … I am absolutely certain he was solely responsible. … I doubt Olivia genuinely desired to attend university. To be thrust into, now, this separation, shattering, dissolving her family in such a manner. I find it deeply painful to witness her endure this.”

Stamos mentioned he was “pleading the fifth” regarding inquiries about alleged infidelity by Giannulli toward Loughlin, yet he disclosed, “Regardless of his actions toward her, it shattered her profoundly.”
