John Travolta's Son Ben Scales New Heights in Norway with Dad's Proudest Post
John Travolta openly expresses his pride in his children.
On Wednesday, November 12, the 71-year-old actor posted a seldom-seen video on Instagram featuring his son Ben, aged 14, ascending a snow-covered peak. Upon reaching the summit, the young man beamed, taking in the panoramic vistas of the ocean and distant mountains.
John accompanied the post with the caption, “No summit is too challenging for my son Ben. Greetings from Norway,” selecting Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s classic “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” as the soundtrack.
Admirers of John quickly filled the comments section, commending both the actor and his son.

“Remarkable. You’re excelling at parenting your children,” a follower enthusiastically commented. “I have no doubt Kelly [Preston] would be immensely pleased and proud.”
John’s deceased wife and Ben’s mother, Preston, passed away in July 2020 after a two-year fight against breast cancer. She was 57 when she wed John in 1991; together, they also had a daughter, Ella, 25, and a son, Jett, who tragically died in 2009 at 16 years old after experiencing a seizure.
“She bravely battled with considerable affection and backing from numerous individuals,” Travolta penned in an Instagram update revealing her passing. “Please excuse any silence from us for a period. Yet, understand that I will cherish your expressions of sympathy in the coming weeks and months as we recover.”
An insider informed Us Weekly back then that Preston represented “the emotional core that held the family together” and that her relationship with John was one of “genuine partnership.”

The insider noted that “Ella and Kelly shared an unbreakable bond as best friends, and naturally Benjamin adored his mother.”
John frequently honors Preston on his social media platforms. For last year’s Mother’s Day, he shared pictures of her with their children, stating, “we long for you.”
As Ben enjoys outdoor adventures, his sister is pursuing a career path similar to their parents. News emerged in October that Ella is cast in John’s forthcoming suspense film, Black Tides.
The publication detailed that Black Tides centers on a disconnected father (John) attempting to rebuild his relationship with his daughter (Melissa Barrera) and grandson (Dylan Torrell) during a yachting excursion near the Spanish coastline. Conflict arises when a group of orcas assaults their vessel, forcing the crew to struggle for survival.

Production recently wrapped up in Gran Canaria, Spain, with specifics regarding Ella’s character still under wraps. Black Tides marks her fifth cinematic appearance. She previously co-starred with John in Old Dogs (2009) and The Poison Rose (2019). Her additional projects, Get Lost and Nice People, are currently awaiting distribution.
“I eagerly seize any chance to collaborate with my father, and we consistently enjoy ourselves tremendously when working together,” Ella shared with People in 2023. “Therefore, I hope we can embark on another venture soon. Perhaps a different project or film. I’m always keen for it.”
Alongside her acting pursuits, Ella has also ventured into music, releasing her debut EP, Colors of Love, in 2024.
“For virtually my entire life, I’ve harbored a deep passion for performing and the arts overall,” she remarked during a recent appearance on Today, adding that “it was deeply motivating to be exposed to that from a young age.”
She described John as an invaluable career mentor “given his lifelong presence in this field — both the cinematic and musical realms — he understands how to safeguard my interests accordingly.”
