Josh Hall Breaks Silence on Christina Haack Divorce Amidst "Unrefined" Social Media Remarks
Josh Hall is prepared to embark on a new chapter following his three-year union with the HGTV personality, Christina Haack.
Speaking with Page Six in an interview released on Tuesday, September 2, the 44-year-old Hall confessed his desire for their divorce proceedings to remain private. “My preference was to avoid a public dispute and any open disagreements,” he articulated.
Hall further indicated a need to present his own perspective. “It’s now imperative for me to speak out, given that, regrettably, the public has solely been exposed to her narrative,” he elaborated, alluding to Haack’s commentary on the matter via social media.
Regarding those online communications, Hall remarked, “Candidly, I found them to be rather unrefined.”
He subsequently stated, “However, I considered it uncalled for… clearly, one shouldn't air the details of a divorce so publicly. It’s unsophisticated. While some aspects can be shared, engaging in social media behavior akin to a disgruntled adolescent is simply not my style.”
Christina Haack’s Stark Reaction to Her Divorce Proceedings with Josh Hall
Hall and Haack, 42, exchanged vows in April 2022, following a year of courtship. Although their romance became public in July 2021, Haack later disclosed they had been a couple for a more extended period.
“My introduction to Josh occurred during a time free from apprehension or acute stress. … The coincidences between us were so profound and immediate, they commanded attention,” she conveyed on Instagram at that point. “We enjoyed several substantial months of simply learning about one another, and I cherished every moment.”
The couple declared their separation two years subsequently in July 2024, when Haack initiated proceedings for the dissolution of their marriage.
The presenter of The Flip Off offered insights into collaborating with Hall during an exclusive conversation with Us in January 2025. “Filming alongside someone becomes considerably simpler when you’re not sharing a residence. Typically, it’s not advisable to work on set with a spouse,” she commented on her experience filming the series with Hall, as well as with her former husband Tarek El Moussa and his partner, Heather Rae El Moussa.
She elaborated, “Josh presented significant challenges during filming. He didn’t grasp the dynamics. He would perpetually express frustration with me, remarking, ‘Goodness, you acted this way’ or ‘You did that.’ And I’d respond, ‘I’m producing a television program.’ In the end, his departure after the first episode proved beneficial, as the series would otherwise have been substandard.”
Haack further clarified that the cancellation of the program following their breakup was never a consideration. “This production does not belong to Josh. His absence will not be noted,” she appended. “Josh is neither a television presenter, a property renovator, nor a designer. He was merely my husband within the context of the show. With Tarek, our endeavors were collaborative from the ground up, and I maintain regard for him. For Josh, I harbor no respect.”
Haack and Tarek, 44, were united in marriage from April 2009 until December 2016, and together they have a daughter, Taylor, 14, and a son, Brayden, 10. She subsequently wed former spouse Ant Anstead in December 2018, with their divorce concluded in June 2021. Haack and Anstead, 46, are the parents of a son named Hudson, 5.
