JT Barnett Breaks Silence on Sami Clarke Split, Citing Her "Personal Conviction"
JT Barnett is offering his perspective following his separation from fellow influencer Sami Clarke, less than a year after their wedding.
“It’s regrettable that I must share this personal announcement today: Sam and I separated some time ago; she made the decision to end things. I still care deeply for her,” Barnett conveyed through his Instagram Story this past Sunday, October 4. “Our relationship experienced no conflicts or growing distant… it was solely her personal conviction and instinct that led her to depart.”
He further elaborated, “I do not concur with this outcome, nor did I desire it. I am certain of my identity, my aspirations, what I contributed, and the essence of our partnership. Our shared existence was enriching, joyful, and content.”
Barnett mentioned that he had no desire “to disclose this information” nor did he “wish to discuss it,” however, given that the couple has “existed in the public eye,” he felt compelled to do so.

“This situation is truly heartbreaking; I long for the individual I adore, and this entire experience has been profoundly upsetting,” he finished.
Through an additional Instagram Story, Barnett clarified that he intended to post “further details about my professional endeavors, as that is the primary purpose of this profile. Furthermore, it has served as a valuable release and something I genuinely find pleasure in. Thank you all for your affection and encouragement.”
Clarke publicly announced on Sunday that her relationship with Barnett had come to an end.
“My life is undergoing a transformation, and I am embarking on a new phase separate from JT,” Clarke communicated via her Instagram Story. “It is genuinely challenging to articulate the difficulty of this experience, yet I believe it is the appropriate course of action for me. I will eternally cherish the affection and recollections we built over our eight years together. I appreciate your allowing us privacy and understanding as we navigate this new beginning.”
A Look Back at Surprising ‘Love Is Blind’ Splits Post-Reunions
Barnett and Clarke exchanged vows in November 2024, having first connected after he messaged her on Instagram.
“He sent me a direct message after leaving a comment on a picture of my baptism, and what began as a casual conversation swiftly evolved into something more significant,” Clarke recounted on Shona Joy’s website post-nuptials with Barnett. “At that point, he was engaged in hockey in Russia, while I was focused on my modeling career. We maintained contact as acquaintances for a year before our initial in-person meeting when he visited Los Angeles.”
For Clarke, encountering Barnett face-to-face felt “enchanting.” She elaborated that the pair “passed five hours on a rooftop, conversing incessantly, and by its conclusion, we both recognized the unique potential of our connection” and effusively praised their initial outing, stating it “established the groundwork for what has blossomed into the most wonderful companionship.”
When Barnett asked the content creator for her hand in marriage, Clarke revealed she was “utterly taken aback.”
“He collaborated with my management team to orchestrate a simulated job opportunity I couldn’t decline—a brand photoshoot featuring couples,” she detailed. “Upon my arrival at the set, he proposed! To enhance the moment further, he arranged for both our families to be present and share in the celebration. It was considerate, sincere, and so distinctly characteristic of us — truly among the finest days of my existence.”
