Justin Combs Publicly Pleads for Father Diddy's Release Ahead of Sentencing

Among the many individuals still standing by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is his son, Justin Dior Combs.

On Friday, September 26, Justin, 31, posted a concise and impactful statement regarding his father on his Instagram Story, advocating for his release before his upcoming sentencing.

Justin’s message read, “FREE PD ASAP,” accompanied by a double exclamation mark.

Justin, whom Diddy, 55, fathered with former girlfriend Misa Hylton, was one of several individuals who submitted a letter backing his dad. Diddy's sentencing is scheduled for Friday, October 3, following his July conviction for two charges related to transporting individuals for prostitution.

Diddy has been incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his September 2024 arrest and could receive a sentence of up to two decades in prison.

“We express our disappointment regarding the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s choice to proceed with what we consider an unwarranted prosecution of Mr. Combs,” Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo conveyed to Us in September 2024. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs stands as a musical legend, a successful self-made business magnate, a devoted father, and a recognized philanthropist who has dedicated the past three decades to constructing a vast enterprise, cherishing his offspring, and striving to empower the Black community. He may have flaws, but he is not a felon.”

On Monday, September 22, legal counsel for Diddy petitioned Judge Arun Subramanian to contemplate a 14-month sentence for the mogul, to be succeeded by supervised release including compulsory drug treatment, individual counseling, and group therapy, citing that typical guidelines for “Mr. Combs’s convicted offenses” range from six to 12 months.

His lawyers further asserted that Diddy “has already endured sufficient punishment by spending 13 months in the harsh circumstances.”

Justin’s correspondence, along with numerous other letters from Diddy’s associates, formed part of the suggested sentencing documentation forwarded to Subramanian.

“With his absence, existence feels unfinished. Every day I awaken, wishing it were merely a bad dream,” Justin penned. “My father has consistently been present throughout my life — not solely physically, but also emotionally, spiritually, and profoundly embodying the essence of fatherhood. I recognize the uncommon nature of such a bond.”

Justin furthermore implored the judge to “perceive my father as I do — not through media reports, but through the perspective of a son who cherishes and requires him. I request that you grant him the opportunity to return home, to fulfill the role of father his children urgently require, and to persist in developing into the individual I believe he can be. My siblings and I cannot regain this forfeited time, yet we implore you to bestow upon us the blessing of having our father back in our lives while we still have moments to share with him.”

Justin, born in 1993, holds the position of the rapper’s eldest offspring. Beyond Hylton, Diddy is also a parent to six other children with his deceased spouse Kim Porter, Sarah Chapman, and Dana Tran.

In June 2025, a female individual leveled accusations of sexual assault against both Diddy and Justin. She further alleged that their initial contact occurred through Snapchat in 2017, and that Justin persuaded her to journey from Louisiana to Los Angeles under the pretense of aiding her entry into the entertainment sector. Diddy's legal representatives refuted these claims. Us Weekly attempted to contact spokespersons for both Diddy and Justin for their statements at that point.

“Irrespective of the volume of legal actions initiated, it remains an undeniable truth that Mr. Combs has never engaged in sexual assault or human trafficking of any individual — male or female, adult or underage,” a legal spokesperson for Diddy declared to Us in a statement on Friday, June 27. “We inhabit a society where anyone can initiate legal proceedings for any motive. Fortunately, an equitable and unbiased judicial procedure is in place to ascertain the facts, and Mr. Combs is assured of his triumph in legal battle.”
