Kandi Burruss Breaks Silence on Divorce from Todd Tucker Emotions Run High
Following her recent divorce filing last week, Kandi Burruss has publicly addressed her separation from Todd Tucker.
“Things have been chaotic in my life recently,” the 49-year-old Burruss disclosed during her Amazon Live broadcast on Monday, November 24, attributing the comment to her recent breakup.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star elaborated, “To be completely honest, my emotions are a rollercoaster. Experiencing a divorce is unequivocally challenging. There are moments when you feel fine, you’re active, socializing, and enjoying time with friends.”
Burruss observed, “However, at other times, feelings of melancholy surface. As a Taurus, I prefer to keep those personal moments private.”

She reminisced that during her time on RHOA, she was unable to “maintain privacy during moments of distress,” leading to her fans witnessing her emotional breakdowns.
Conversely, in her “personal life,” Burruss stated, “I genuinely prefer these intimate moments not to be disclosed publicly.”
Burruss mentioned that her separation from the 52-year-old Tucker was an instance where she successfully maintained discretion about her personal affairs.
Following her confirmation on Friday, November 21, that she had filed for divorce, Burruss acknowledged the separation “had been developing for some time.”

“Therefore, all the instances where you saw me smiling online signify nothing,” she admitted. “I’ve been struggling, honestly. I've been enduring hardships. Life has truly been putting me through the wringer.”
Burruss, who has two children with Tucker, son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 6, subsequently informed her audience that she is managing “as well as possible.”
The television personality disclosed that it has been “difficult” to encounter social media comments regarding her separation, particularly from individuals “creating their own interpretations of the situation.”
Despite the unfavorable scrutiny, Burruss affirmed she harbors “no regrets” concerning her union with Tucker.
“Occasionally, relationships simply don’t succeed. That’s just the reality,” she remarked, further stating that for the welfare of their two shared children, they are “maintaining a very amicable relationship.” (Burruss is also mother to daughter Riley, 23, from her previous relationship with Russell Spencer.)
On Friday, Us Weekly verified that Burruss and Tucker had ended their marriage after 11 years.
“Following extensive contemplation and much prayer, I have chosen to proceed with a divorce. While this period is challenging and emotionally taxing, my priority is preserving my tranquility, striving to be the best mother possible, and co-parenting with affection and mutual regard,” Burruss conveyed in a statement to Us. “I am commencing a new phase, dedicating myself to my career, my family, and my personal development. I extend my gratitude to all who supported us over the years, and I request privacy, compassion, and comprehension as my family and I navigate this change.”

This announcement emerged a week subsequent to Burruss acknowledging Tucker for his unwavering support throughout her time on RHOA. (Burruss departed the Bravo series in 2023 following its 15th season.)
“Todd, I thank you for enduring the scrutiny of blogs, the criticism, the gossip, the falsehoods, the realities, the near-altercations, the actual confrontations, and the reunions,” Burruss expressed on November 14 during her acceptance of the Wifetime Achievement award at BravoCon 2025’s The Bravos event. “This accolade is also rightfully yours.”
Tucker reciprocated by publicly commending Burruss on social media after her receipt of the significant award.
“Wholly deserved, you conducted yourself with elegance and integrity. You serve as an inspiration to numerous individuals. You are the Greatest Of All Time!” he commented on a shared Instagram post by Bravo and Burruss.
