Kandi Burruss Uses Bravo Show to Fight Estranged Husband's Prenup Claims
Kandi Burruss, formerly of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is reportedly leveraging Bravo network recordings to counter allegations made by her estranged husband, Todd Tucker’s, concerning their prenuptial arrangement, as exclusively revealed by Us Weekly.
On Monday, December 1, Burruss submitted an updated divorce filing, specifically responding to Tucker's assertions that he was prompted to sign their 2014 prenuptial agreement in the absence of his legal counsel.
She stated that prior to their marriage, he had the benefit of a prominent attorney and contested his assertion that the prenup lacked validity because of insufficient legal counsel.
“The process by which the couple finalized a binding Prenuptial Agreement was documented and aired on the Bravo television network, with the full awareness and approval of both [Burruss] and [Tucker], as part of their five-episode reality wedding special, Kandi’s Wedding, which first aired on June 1, 2014,” Burruss’ legal representative pointed out in the document, which Us acquired.

Burruss’ attorney further highlighted that within the documentary, Tucker “clearly declared” his readiness to “sign off” on the prenuptial agreement during a private moment with Burruss, subsequent to discussions with his lawyer “both when filming and not.”
According to initial reports from Us, Tucker claimed in court that he received the prenuptial agreement prior to their April 2014 wedding, yet his legal counsel was absent when the definitive version was presented to him.
“Notwithstanding that awareness, [Burruss’] legal team put the conclusive agreement before [Tucker] for his signature right before the marriage ceremony, without alerting or conferring with [Tucker’s representatives], who had been deeply involved in the negotiation phase,” Tucker’s document contended.
Tucker, seeking exclusive primary custody, additionally requested spousal support should the court deem the prenuptial agreement invalid.
As Us initially reported, Tucker submitted court documents on November 26, alleging that Burruss’ professional commitments would necessitate her prolonged absence from their children for multiple months. He stated his desire to reach an amicable custody arrangement with Burruss, but failing that, he requested the court grant him primary custody, with Burruss retaining visitation rights.
Burruss initiated divorce proceedings on November 21, initially seeking shared legal and physical custody, a demand which has since been altered. In her revised divorce petition, Burruss adjusted her request for joint custody to instead seek primary custody of their son Ace, born in 2016, and their daughter Blaze, born in 2019.
Her lawyer mentioned in the filing that both Burruss and Tucker are “well-known personalities and independent business owners.” She stated that she has covered the costs for their children’s nanny whenever professional travel was necessary.

Burruss asserted that she wasn't the sole parent whose work required travel. Her attorney highlighted, “Both [Burruss] and [Tucker] have had career commitments that have necessitated each spouse to journey away from their residence for considerable durations, both individually and together, before and after the arrival of both minor children.”
The former RHOA cast member further stated that beyond the nanny, their children benefit from a “varied and strong family support system, comprising maternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins residing within a five to 20-mile proximity of the family home.”
In her submitted documents, Burruss recorded their marriage date as April 2014 and their separation date as July 15, 2025.
