Kate Gosselin Recovers from Surgery with Boyfriend Steve Neild's Sweet Support
Kate Gosselin finds support during her knee recovery from her partner, Steve Neild.
The 50-year-old reality star, Gosselin, posted a TikTok on Tuesday, October 7, titled “Day in My Life,” showcasing her recuperation seven days after a difficult leg operation that resulted from an incident with one of her canine companions. The visual compilation featured an image of a breakfast tray on her lap, holding cereal and coffee, as she reclined in bed.
“Breakfast prepared with abundant affection … by a certain someone,” the former star of Jon & Kate Plus 8 wrote beneath the update, seemingly indicating Neild. While she has alluded to him before on her platform, she generally refrains from using his name to maintain confidentiality. (Last month, Page Six revealed him as Neild, who previously served as her bodyguard. Subsequently, she has addressed her significant other as “Steve” during a TikTok Live session.)
“Cereal rich in protein and fiber with banana,” Gosselin added.

On September 30, Gosselin disclosed on TikTok that she had been admitted to the hospital, posting an image of her arm bearing an IV and requesting supporters' prayers.
“I expect to recover, but I am apprehensive and would welcome your prayers! Thank you, everyone,” she stated then, assuring her followers of a “story time once [she’s] capable.”
Later that same day, Gosselin posted another update, disclosing that she had experienced one of her “three most agonizing [surgical procedures].” She explained that her young dog, Meika, had “collided with her at high velocity,” leading to a tibial plateau fracture. Consequently, Gosselin required “plates and pins” to be implanted in her limb.
Gosselin mentioned that a medical professional characterized her wound as “transformative,” and she indicated that she was managing her discomfort with medication and a “cold therapy device” applied to her knee.
Upon her discharge from the hospital and return home, Kate — known for being the mother of twins Mady and Cara, 25, and sextuplets Aaden, Hannah, Collin, Leah, Joel and Alexis, 21, with former spouse Jon Gosselin — contemplated her mishap and expressed contentment about her recovery progress.
“I simply wished to provide a brief update: my initial night back home was wonderful, and the realization of my current dependency is setting in. This brings me back to more than 21 years ago, when I was confined to bed,” she remarked in a clip, referencing her period of bed rest during her sextuplet pregnancy.
Reflecting on when Meika struck her leg, Kate stated, “The force of that collision is unforgettable. It produced a dull impact sound — not a sound of bone fracturing, but a dull impact. And I instantly stiffened and collapsed.”
