Kate Hudson’s Red Carpet Premiere Becomes a Star-Studded Family Affair with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell
The New York City premiere of Song Sung Blue turned into a notable family gathering when Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell attended the red carpet event to show support for their daughter, Kate Hudson.
Hudson, 46, arrived at the New York City screening for her musical feature alongside her mother Hawn, 80, and Hawn’s partner of many years, Russell, 74. Hudson captivated onlookers in a chartreuse Valentino gown, featuring a cinched satin waistband and a contrasting rose-hued cape. Her hair was styled sleekly away from her face, highlighting her coordinated green earrings and a sophisticated, neutral makeup palette.
Hawn presented an equally elegant appearance in a black beaded outfit, which included a sheer neckline and intricate silver embellishments. Russell selected a classic black suit paired with a complementary rose-colored necktie. Hudson’s fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, joined her on the carpet, where he posed for photographs with the star in a traditional black suit.
This appearance follows several significant events for the blended family, including a recent celebration for Hawn’s 80th birthday on November 21.

Hawn, Russell, and Hudson also warmly greeted Hudson’s costar Hugh Jackman on the red carpet, posing for photos with the Greatest Showman star, all wearing undeniable smiles. Jackman, 57, was accompanied by his girlfriend Sutton Foster, who wore a navy blue mini dress adorned with silver decorations.
Jackman had previously commended Hudson’s performance in the film, predicting she would emerge victorious during the upcoming awards season.
“Kate Hudson is not only one of the preeminent stars of our industry, but she is also a consummate professional actor,” Jackman stated while accepting the inaugural Musical Tribute alongside Hudson at the 2025 Gotham Awards on December 1. “I believe that this time around she will win an Oscar.”
Song Sung Blue has garnered significant buzz this year, featuring Jackman and Hudson as the real-life married couple Mike and Claire Sardina, known for performing in a Neil Diamond tribute band. Months before the NYC premiere, Hudson discussed the speculation surrounding a potential Oscar nomination for her role.
"You never truly know with these matters. I’ve been working long enough now to understand that the focus should be on enjoying that people genuinely love the movie," she commented at the Academy and Chanel Women’s Luncheon in October, as reported by People. "And simply, you know, attend where I am instructed to go."
Hudson has already secured a 2026 Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her work in Song Sung Blue.
