Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s connection is still blossoming – and the pair intend to welcome 2026 as a couple.
“Justin and Katy will be celebrating New Year’s together,” an insider exclusively reveals to Us Weekly regarding the duo. “They are very fond of each other and drawn to one another.”
The source notes that Perry, 41, finds herself “genuinely inspired” by the former Canadian leader, 54, and is “impressed by his achievements,” adding, “He’s a wonderful match for her.”
Perry and Trudeau were initially spotted together in July while the pop star was in Canada for her Lifetimes Tour. Two months later, a source informed Us that the pair were planning to be “more discreet” about their bond but were “still communicating” and were “very intrigued by each other.”

In October, the pair held hands in Paris following a dinner to commemorate Perry’s birthday.
“Katy is really invested. She’s very content,” a source told Us at the time. “She’s attempting to keep things low-profile, and they’ve spent considerable private time together. She’s not eager to publicize this relationship.”
Perry’s romance with Trudeau marks her first public relationship since she ended her engagement with fiancé Orlando Bloom earlier this year. The “Roar” singer and the actor, 48, confirmed in July that they had concluded their engagement after a decade together.
“Orlando and Katy have been transitioning their relationship over the past several months to prioritize coparenting,” representatives for the pair confirmed in a joint statement to Us at the time. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority – and always will be – is raising their daughter with affection, stability and mutual respect.”

Earlier this month, Perry and Trudeau made their public debut during a meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
“Former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau traveled to Japan with his partner Katy Perry and had lunch with us,” Kishida, 68, wrote via Instagram on December 4. “During my time as Prime Minister, I met Prime Ministers on numerous occasions, and when I visited Canada, we collaborated to strengthen bilateral relations, including developing the ‘Nikka Action Plan.’ I am pleased that we are continuing this friendship.”
After the meeting, Trudeau shared his own social media post, writing via X, “Wonderful to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were delighted to have the opportunity to sit down with you and Yuko. In another image, the duo visited TeamLabs to experience an intergalactic exhibition.
Prior to his relationship with Perry, Trudeau was married to Sophie Grégoire Trudeau. The couple, who share three children, separated in 2023 after 18 years together.
