Keanu Reeves addressed recent rumors suggesting he and his partner, Alexandra Grant, had secretly gotten married.
“The reports are incorrect,” a spokesperson for Reeves, who is 61, confirmed in a statement to E! News on Monday, September 22. “They have not exchanged vows.”
Us Weekly has sought further comment on the matter.
Reeves and Grant, 52, are known for maintaining a private relationship. Their initial meeting occurred at a dinner party in 2009. Following this, they worked together on several artistic endeavors, such as Reeves’ literary works, Ode to Happiness and Shadow, before publicly announcing their romantic involvement. The duo’s first official appearance as a couple was at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in November 2019.

“It seemed like everyone I knew reached out to me during the first week of November, which I found quite intriguing,” Grant stated in a 2020 conversation with British Vogue. “However, my persistent query throughout this experience has been: How can this be leveraged for a positive impact?”
A couple of years subsequent to that, an insider revealed exclusively to Us that Reeves and Grant had no immediate plans to pursue an engagement or marriage.
“He feels no urgency and doesn't require a legal document to confirm that Alexandra is his ideal partner,” the source elaborated. “They share a profound connection and are fully devoted to a lasting future, and their bond only deepens with time.”
Reeves and Grant have been seen together publicly on several occasions throughout their relationship. This past June, the acclaimed actor accompanied Grant to the Los Angeles premiere of Ballerina, a direct spin-off from the popular John Wick series, where Reeves portrays the iconic lead role. While gracing the red carpet, the couple exchanged an affectionate kiss.

“My gratitude to all who extended warm wishes for Keanu's birthday yesterday … he truly felt honored!” Grant posted on Instagram, accompanying a photo of a heart-shaped cake adorned with the film star’s name in icing. “As most of you are aware, Keanu doesn't use any social media, so he won't see messages or viral content unless they are brought to his attention by another person.”
Grant mentioned that Reeves viewed her social media post as a “draft” and contributed some heartfelt sentiments for his beloved.
“I cherish your affection and companionship immensely. Now, back to my art! With love,” she finished.
