Kelly Dodd's family ties unravel amidst leaked voicemail and public accusations

Kelly Dodd's familial relationships have seen their share of fluctuations over time.

The former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member — who appeared on the Bravo series from its eleventh to fifteenth seasons — entered the world in 1975 in Scottsdale, Arizona, born to Frank Meza and Bobbi Meza. She is the sibling to two brothers, JR Meza and Eric Meza.

Following her union with Scott Silva, which lasted from 2001 to 2004, Kelly then began a relationship with Michael Dodd, marrying him in 2006. They became parents to a daughter, Jolie Dodd, also in 2006, prior to their eventual divorce in 2018. (Kelly subsequently wed Rick Leventhal in 2020.)

While Kelly's bond with her family has been turbulent at various points, the Bravo personality garnered attention in November 2025 after an alleged voice message Kelly left for Jolie circulated widely.

The exact timing of the message remains unclear, but the voicemail was reportedly intended for one of Jolie's friends to relay to Jolie, after her daughter had blocked her "from everything."

“You just opened a Pandora’s box Jolie. I have recordings of you, screaming at your dad because he isn’t taking you on vacation, screaming that he didn’t buy you a car,” Kelly reportedly stated in the voice note footage that went viral across social media platforms. “Do you remember those recordings that I saved? I have those and I’m going to publicly put them out there. Do you understand?”

Although Kelly has yet to comment on the leaked voicemail, her younger brother, Eric, claimed in a social media video that he was pleased that the “truth prevailed.”

During the fourteenth season of RHOC, Kelly revealed a rift had formed between herself, Bobbi, and Eric after they had resided in Kelly's Orange County home.

“My mother was sharing sensitive information with my brother and subsequently creating difficulties,” Kelly elaborated on RHOC’s season 14 “After Show” in December 2019.

However, by late 2019, Kelly disclosed that her relationship with her mom and Eric was “very good.”

“I’m on really good terms with my brother and my mom,” she shared with Entertainment Tonight in September 2019. “There’s this really good thing about the show is that it really brought my mom and my brother [and me] back together.”

Nearly six years later, Eric alleged on social media that “nobody talks to” Kelly, including their mother and their father, whom Eric said described Kelly as a “horrible daughter.”

“I don’t talk to her, her nieces and nephews don’t talk to her, her mother doesn’t talk to her,” Eric conveyed in several social media videos in August 2025. “That’s self-explanatory. Doesn’t that tell you something about somebody?”

In response to Eric’s assertions, Kelly posted a video of herself calling her father.

“He said that you said that I’m a terrible daughter and that I’m the worst person on the face of this earth,” she stated on the phone, adding that she knows “why Mom doesn’t talk to me — it’s because of him.”

“He is so full of s,” Frank retorted in the video before remarking that Eric is “worse than s” and that “he’s sick.”

Accompanying the video posted via Instagram, Kelly wrote, “My brother is a psycho! His own dad can’t stand him!”

JR Meza

Kelly’s eldest brother is JR. While details about his personal life are limited, JR serves as a franchise business consultant for SafeSplash Swim Schools in Scottsdale, Arizona, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Eric Meza

Kelly’s youngest brother is Eric. Their relationship deteriorated after Kelly disclosed that he and their mother stayed at her residence for approximately a year and a half — a claim Eric disputed.

“Kelly begged me and my mom to move into her house when Bravo hired her, because our family was part of a package deal,” Eric asserted in an interview with AllAboutTheTea.com in September 2018. “The only reason she got on the show was because Bravo interviewed me and my mom for five hours, and they were sold on our unique family dynamic. That’s the only reason we lived with her, not because we needed a place to stay.”

Eric claimed he moved himself and his mother out of Kelly’s house because Kelly was “mentally, emotionally and physically” abusing Bobbi.

Following Eric’s allegations, Kelly stated that initially Eric and her mom were only meant to stay at her house for a few months, which “turned into a year and a half.”

“I felt like my mom and Eric were taking advantage of me, and it caused my mom and me to get in a big, huge fight. They moved back to Arizona,” she shared on an episode of RHOC in September 2019.

Relations between Eric and Kelly appeared cordial until he claimed in August 2025 on social media that “nobody talks” to Kelly in their family and that Kelly is a “terrible mom.”

Kelly subsequently refuted these claims with her father in an Instagram Story, alleging that Eric is “so full of s.”

Meanwhile, after the alleged voicemail from Kelly to Jolie was made public in November 2025, Eric revealed via social media videos that he was content that the “truth prevailed.”

“You can obviously see the projecting that she’s done on me, my mom, Jolie, her nieces, nephews, everybody, brothers, JR, everyone … You can see the demonic entity coming out, spewing out of her mouth,” he claimed. “It’s evident that everyone can see she has a black heart.”

While Eric noted that “it’s pretty incomprehensible” why she would utter such things to Jolie, he asserted that he’s been attempting to “tell everybody” about Kelly's true nature for years.

“She’s been projecting that onto me, trying to make me look like the bad guy, but we all know who the bad guy really is. So the truth comes out,” he alleged, adding that Kelly has “some serious problems” and was “severely mentally ill.”

Scott Silva

Kelly was married to Arizona attorney Scott Silva from 2001 to 2004.

Michael Dodd

After her divorce from Silva, Kelly moved on with Michael Dodd. The couple married in 2006 before welcoming their daughter, Jolie, that same year. Although the pair briefly separated in 2012, they rekindled their romance until 2017 when Kelly disclosed her intention to file for divorce from Michael.

“Our marriage is over, I’m out of there!” Kelly informed the Daily Mail in an interview published in September 2017. “We’ve had problems for years and I’ve had enough. I’m done with our marriage. It’s just a case where two people can’t get along. It’s best if we went our separate ways and concentrate on our daughter.”

Jolie Dodd

Kelly and Michael welcomed their daughter, Jolie, in 2006.

In November 2025, video footage was leaked containing an alleged voicemail Kelly sent to Jolie’s friend after her daughter had blocked her “from everything.”

“Meanwhile, your dad was being some fing loser and put those three kids first before you,” she stated. “I have all of those so what you just did right now, you’re going to look like a fool, you dumb little girl. You’re stupid, OK? For even thinking that you’re going to win.”

Kelly remarked that her criminal attorney was “laughing at you.”

“You’re a joke and so is your dad. And for you to even take his side after what he has done to you since 7th grade is absolutely crazy,” Kelly asserted.

Kelly has yet to issue a statement following the leaked footage.

Kelly began dating reporter Rick Leventhal in summer 2019 after their meeting at a barbecue in the Hamptons. The couple became engaged in November 2019 before exchanging vows in October 2020.
