Kelly Osbourne Honors Her Late Father Ozzy Osbourne on Her First Birthday Since His Passing
Kelly Osbourne honored her deceased father, Ozzy Osbourne, as she approached her first birthday since his passing.
Osbourne, celebrating her 41st birthday on Monday, October 27, posted a series of pictures featuring herself and her father on Instagram just hours before her special day commenced.
“Tomorrow marks a significant milestone for me. It will be my inaugural birthday without my father,” she posted on Sunday, October 26. “Annually, my greatest anticipation was spending the day with him and receiving the personalized cards he would pen for me. The realization that I will no longer receive one profoundly breaks my heart. I've shared just a few examples. His messages were consistently brief, straightforward, yet conveyed every sentiment I required. I love you, Daddy; tomorrow will be incredibly difficult without you.”
Kelly's Instagram update featured images of several greeting cards her father had presented her throughout the years. One message stated, “To Kelly, I love you with all my heart,” and another conveyed, “Dearest Kelly, I simply want to express that I love and long for you every moment of the day.” Each card concluded with the signature, “Love Daddy.”
Kelly Osbourne's Statements Regarding Ozzy Osbourne's Health Challenges Prior to His Passing
Ozzy passed away on July 22 at 76 years old after enduring a protracted fight with Parkinson's disease and numerous severe health incidents. His demise was subsequently attributed to a heart attack.
Kelly addressed her father's death publicly for the first time on July 24, citing lines from “Changes,” a Black Sabbath track from 1972. “I feel unhappy, I am so sad,” she posted on her Instagram Story then. “I lost the best friend I ever had.”
She subsequently posted a more extensive message concerning his death, expressing gratitude to her supporters.
“I have attempted to compose this countless times and remain uncertain if any words will suffice... but from the depths of my heart, I thank you,” she conveyed through Instagram in August. “The affection, encouragement, and thoughtful messages I have gotten from so many of you have genuinely sustained me during the most challenging period of my existence. Each kind remark, every shared recollection, every display of empathy has held more significance than I can ever articulate.”

She went on to say, “Grief is an peculiar experience — it overtakes you in intermittent surges. I will not be well for some time — but realizing my family is not isolated in our sorrow offers comfort. I am steadfastly cherishing the affection, the positivity, and the heritage that remains.”During Ozzy's funeral on July 30, Kelly honored her father by donning a pair of circular, wire-rimmed sunglasses, echoing the distinctive style he famously wore throughout the years.
Ozzy had Kelly, his daughter Aimee, 42, and son Jack, 39, with his spouse Sharon Osbourne, whom he married in 1982. Additionally, he was the parent to daughter Jessica and sons Louis and Elliot, from his previous marriage to Thelma Riley.
The Osbourne household experienced additional bereavement earlier this month with the passing of Sharon’s dog, Elvis.
“I find it hard to believe I am sharing this, but my beloved Elvis departed this week,” Sharon, 73, stated on Instagram on October 19. “He blessed me with 14 invaluable years. He remained by my side until the very end. Rest peacefully, my dear boy!”
