Khloe Kardashian forgives Savannah Guthrie's past intrusive question
UPDATE — 10/22/25, 11:59 a.m. ET: Khloe Kardashian holds no resentment for news anchor Savannah Guthrie.
Following the Today show host's apology for a past intrusive inquiry, Kardashian affirmed that all is forgiven.
“She’s wonderful!” Kardashian remarked on Tuesday, October 21, through the E News! Kards Katch Up Instagram page. “It requires immense character to admit fault, and I truly admire her!”
Initial report:
Savannah Guthrie is reflecting on her career in television and disclosing the broadcast moment she most regrets.
On the Monday, October 20, installment of the Today show, the 53-year-old reporter was questioned about any misgivings from her previous interviews.
Guthrie remembered questioning previous interviewee Khloé Kardashian in 2012 regarding whispers that the deceased Robert Kardashian was not her paternal parent, admitting she surprised the 41-year-old Good American creator right before a break due to the sensitive nature of the query.
“I inquired with Khloé Kardashian, roughly ten seconds prior to our commercial break, concerning the speculation that her father was not her biological father,” Guthrie reflected. (Back then, numerous accounts speculated whether Kardashian’s true father was the late O.J. Simpson.)

Guthrie expressed discomfort regarding the situation, clarifying that she experienced “significant pressure” from production staff who were keen for her to pose the “gossipy inquiry.”
The broadcast figure commended Kardashian for dismissing the conjecture calmly, without becoming agitated or personally offended.
“Consequently, right before the end, we asked, ‘And Khloé, what about this whisper that Robert Kardashian isn’t truly your father?’ And the countdown was happening, ‘10, nine, eight…’ and I felt extremely mortified,” Guthrie detailed. “However, she handled it with such grace. She simply replied, ‘Oh, it’s nothing.’ We cut to commercial. I posed the question, and Khloé conducted herself with complete dignity.”
The mother of two — who currently has daughter True and son Tatum with former partner Tristan Thompson — had earlier debunked these claims during a May 2012 installment of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, where she was advised to undergo a paternity test for clarity.
Khloé ultimately declined, unequivocally declaring that her “father is Robert Kardashian.”
Her family members consist of elder sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kim Kardashian, along with younger brother Rob Kardashian, in addition to Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner.
Simpson maintained connections with the Kardashian household, being a close friend of Robert Sr., who was part of his notorious defense team during his 1994 indictment for the murders of his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her acquaintance, Ron Goldman. Simpson was eventually acquitted in October 1995 after a criminal proceeding, yet deemed responsible in a civil case almost two years subsequent, in February 1997.
The Kardashian Family's Most Moving Testimonials Regarding Robert Kardashian
“Khloe, much like all the girls, makes me very proud, just as I am certain Bob would be if he were still alive,” Simpson posted on Twitter in 2019 concerning the gossip. “The plain truth of the situation is that she is not my child.”
The ex-NFL player revisited the fatherhood claims in a 2022 installment of the “Full Send” podcast, stating, “The speculation is baseless. It lacks any semblance of truth.”
“Individuals have their preferences, correct? I consistently found Kris [Jenner] to be an attractive woman,” he commented, reiterating his earlier statements. “She possessed a very pleasant demeanor. However, I was involved with supermodels at the time.”
Simpson passed away in April 2024, at 76 years old, following a struggle with prostate cancer.
