Khloe Kardashian's Diaries Burned by Lamar Odom in Harrowing Past Revelation
Khloé Kardashian revealed a deeply saddening story behind her decision to stop keeping a diary.
“I consistently kept a journal. It's been years since I've done so,” Kardashian shared during the November 19, Wednesday installment of her “Khloé in Wonderland” podcast. “I truly enjoyed journaling … I possessed several diaries where I documented virtually my entire existence, and I cherished them. Absolutely everything was recorded within those pages.”
Kardashian recounted an occasion when her former husband, Lamar Odom, was experiencing significant distress and enduring a difficult period, frequently displaying extreme paranoia.
“He discovered these personal diaries, which he was aware I regularly maintained, and began reading them, becoming utterly convinced that I was recording information to send to the government or some other outlandish scheme,” she proceeded. “Subsequently, he tossed every single one of them into a blazing fire right before my eyes. I can still recall weeping uncontrollably, with tears pouring down my cheeks.”

The Kardashians personality vividly recalled being “on her knees, shrieking” in despair at the obliteration of her diaries, which had chronicled “many years of her existence.”
“Those books held immense personal value,” she stated. “And that incident marked the final occasion I ever kept a journal, as I simply felt, astonishingly, that years of my life vanished in an instant. What was the purpose of it all?”
Despite Kardashian expressing her strong conviction that journaling is “highly beneficial” due to its “profoundly therapeutic” nature, the event involving Odom, 46, compelled her to “reflect on the fact that … one truly cannot retain anything in this existence.”
“Perhaps, that's acceptable. And maybe it's fine to, for example, I used to cling to all these possessions. Now, occasionally I will write something down, only to then discard it,” she elaborated. “I am not attempting to recreate what I once possessed. However, I genuinely desire to still have those volumes, simply to review my thoughts from that era? … That's precisely what makes journaling so unique.”
Kardashian concluded by stating that despite her strong dislike for no longer keeping a journal, given its inherent value, she “never wishes to encounter the possibility of such an event recurring.”
“I won't recommence journaling only to have someone ruin it, or misplace it, or something else. But yes, it's more, I wouldn't call it traumatic for me, but I simply have no desire to revisit that experience,” she remarked.

Odom and Kardashian tied the knot in 2009, remaining married until 2013, the year she initiated divorce proceedings. The television personality delayed their separation in 2015, opting instead to assume responsibility for Odom's care after he lapsed into a coma subsequent to an overdose at a licensed establishment in Nevada. Kardashian re-filed for divorce in 2016 once Odom had recuperated, and their marital dissolution was formally concluded later that same year.
The former couple, who had exchanged vows just one month after their initial acquaintance, met again for the first time in nearly a decade during a February episode of The Kardashians. The entrepreneur behind Good American handed back some of the ex-basketball player’s belongings and discussed with Odom the various triumphs and struggles of their shared history.
“I put you through a significant amount, didn't I?” Odom remarked to Kardashian, who replied, “I wouldn't describe that period as effortless.”
Odom further stated, “No, it wasn't easy for me either. Indeed, I made serious errors. In our relationship. I appreciate your utmost efforts with me. That affection — I don't believe it will ever dissipate. I am certain it won't.”
