Kid Rock Honors Charlie Kirk with New Song and Divine Inspiration
Kid Rock honored the memory of the recently deceased Charlie Kirk at a live performance last week.
The 54-year-old artist commemorated the conservative advocate, who tragically died in September at 31, during his show at the Hondo Rodeo Fest in Arizona on November 8, according to a report by Taste of Country published on Wednesday, November 12.
During that period, Rock, known by his birth name Robert James Ritchie, was temporarily replacing country star Cody Johnson, who was recuperating from an operation for a burst eardrum. Rock interrupted his performance after the initial verse of Johnson's acoustic track, "Til You Can't," and informed the audience, "A few weeks back, I found myself awake early on a Sunday, alone, with this particular song echoing in my mind."
He went on to say: “Then, in that instant, a voice or presence communicated with me, indicating that a verse was still absent from this song, and prompted me to rise and transcribe it. Which I did. And presently, I understand precisely whose voice addressed me that dawn.”

Within the newly composed verse, Rock vocalized: “You have a book resting in your home, perhaps needing some attention / There's a figure who sacrificed for our transgressions / Suspended from the crucifix / You can offer your existence to Jesus / And he will grant you another opportunity / Until you are no longer able, until you are no longer able.”
Kirk tragically lost his life to gunfire on September 10, during an address at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The co-founder of Turning Point USA passed away subsequent to being moved to a nearby medical facility. He leaves behind his spouse, Erika, and their pair of young offspring.
The alleged assailant, Tyler Robinson, surrendered to law enforcement a mere two days following the incident. He has not yet responded to accusations including aggravated murder, illegal firearm discharge, two counts of obstructing legal proceedings, two counts of influencing witnesses, and committing a violent act while a child was present.

“It is tragic that an event of this nature was necessary to truly guide everyone back to their beliefs — including individuals like myself who have consistently been very spiritual, but even more profoundly so over the recent weeks,” he declared on the October 10 broadcast of The Ingraham Angle. “I am composing such songs, and I have been crafting a Gospel record for the past year, so this isn't a novel pursuit, but indeed, I possess considerable confidence and optimism regarding the younger populace.”
The artist behind “Cowboy” is an outspoken supporter of conservative viewpoints. Previously this year, he appeared at President Donald Trump’s inaugural ceremony alongside fellow country musicians Jason Aldean, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Carrie Underwood.
Ever since achieving prominence with his seminal album, Devil Without a Cause, Rock has cultivated an image characterized by his unvarnished and unconventional demeanor.

“Ritchie has swapped his white wine preference for Jim Beam and Diet Coke. He then consumes a minimum of three or four of these drinks quite rapidly,” journalist David Peisner asserted in his piece released that May. “He's seated in a dim leather armchair, vociferating at me about various subjects, when he reaches behind the cushion, retrieves a dark handgun, and gestures with it to emphasize a certain argument.”
Peisner further stated that Rock informed him, “I possess a damn firearm right here should the necessity arise! I have them in every location!”
