Kidman and Urban's Love Story From Hollywood to Heartbreak

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban both hail from Australia, yet their paths crossed and romance blossomed far from their homeland.

Their initial encounter occurred at the G’Day USA Gala — a celebration for Australian luminaries in Los Angeles — in 2005. While Kidman was instantly captivated by the country music star, Urban's interest wasn't as immediate.

“I recall feeling very drawn to him, and he seemed uninterested,” Kidman shared with Ellen DeGeneres in 2017. “Indeed! He waited four months before reaching out.”

Urban later explained that he was in a “difficult period” when he initially met the star of Big Little Lies, prompting his delay in contacting her. Eventually, Urban pursued her, and the couple ultimately exchanged vows in June 2006.

Since then, they have welcomed two children, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, and have consistently championed one another. (Kidman is also a mother to Isabella and Conner, adopted during her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.)

In September 2025, Us Weekly reported that the duo had parted ways following almost twenty years of matrimony.
