Kim Kardashian's legal journey continues after passing the baby bar and aiming for the full exam
Kim Kardashian, a future attorney? The television personality has been transparent about her pursuit of a legal career since enrolling with the California State Bar for her law studies in 2018.
Kardashian first revealed her aspirations in her April 2019 Vogue cover feature, detailing how she committed 18 hours weekly to supervised legal studies with attorneys Jessica Jackson and Erin Haney.
“In the initial year of law studies, you're required to learn three areas: criminal law, torts, and contracts,” she shared with the publication. “For me, torts is the most perplexing, contracts the dullest, and criminal law is second nature. My first exam, I scored perfectly. It was quite simple for me. The extensive reading is what truly challenges me. It demands so much time. Yet, I comprehend the underlying principles almost instantly.”
Back then, the star of Keeping Up With the Kardashians aimed to sit for the bar exam in 2022. Nevertheless, she needed to successfully complete the First-Year Law Students’ Examination, known as the “baby bar,” to progress with her studies. In a May 2021 installment of her family’s previous reality series, she disclosed that she did not pass the baby bar on her initial try in the summer of 2020.
Following several attempts, Kardashian eventually cleared the baby bar, simultaneously progressing through her four-year apprenticeship, which concluded in May 2025.
The Skims founder attempted the Bar Exam in July 2025, yet was unsuccessful on her initial attempt.
