Kit Keenan Bought a NYC Apartment—Without Her Mom’s Help
The Bachelor alum Kit Keenan is providing “a little bit of background” into how she managed to purchase a residence in New York City — without her mom, fashion designer Cynthia Rowley’s assistance.
“I was raised with significant advantages and an incredibly supportive family,” Keenan, 26, said in a TikTok video shared on Friday, December 26. “My mother didn’t purchase this apartment, but she did allow me to live at home until age 26.”
Keenan, who briefly appeared on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor in 2021, revealed through social media earlier this month that she acquired a luxurious complex in the Big Apple.
According to Keenan, she had been “saving [her money] diligently” while residing under Rowley’s roof.

“She also introduced me to my accountant and my financial advising team when I earned my first paycheck at age 18,” the influencer explained. “She led by example and demonstrated the importance of financial independence as a woman and why investing in real estate matters.”
Rowley, 67, shares Kit with ex-husband William Keenan Jr., as well as 20-year-old daughter Gigi with her current husband, William Powers. Regarding her business, Rowley launched her namesake fashion label in 1988 to eventual global success. She has also authored several books and cohosts her “Ageless” podcast with Kit.
“[My mom’s] career and recognition has given me so much access. I’ve certainly leveraged that on my own social media,” Kit admitted on Friday. “It also enabled me to appear on a reality television program at age 21, which introduced me to an audience far beyond my initial niche.”

Despite utilizing her privilege to achieve acclaim online, Kit emphasized that Rowley “didn’t co-sign [her] loan or contribute to [the] down payment or pay for [her] mortgage” in any way.
“I believe it’s acceptable to say I’m very proud to have accomplished that entirely on my own,” Kit said. “I’ll be honest and say I wanted to share this, partly due to my own ego, but I also want to articulate this conversation because this is genuinely my dream job.”
According to Kit, working as a content creator has “generated opportunities far beyond [her] wildest expectations.”
“I’ve also observed it generate stability and independence for many of my peers,” she noted. “If you’ve been curious about creating content and embarrassment is what’s holding you back, I want you to know it has been so worthwhile for me in more ways than I could have ever anticipated.”

Kit finalized the purchase on Tuesday, December 23.
“Today is a very exciting day because I’m closing on my apartment,” she said in an Instagram video. “I’m so nervous, and even though I feel excited, I also feel like this is way over my head. How am I doing this? How did I get to this point? It’s been such a long time coming and so many years of saving.”
Kit, who did bring her mom with her to sign the title, has since been overjoyed about her residential milestone.
“[I’m] so proud of myself and so excited for this new chapter,” she concluded at the time.
