Kristin Cavallari Briefly Dated Utah Jazz Coach Will Hardy But Romance Didn't Bloom
Us Weekly has confirmed that Kristin Cavallari had a date with Utah Jazz head coach Will Hardy some time ago this year.
An exclusive source informed Us that Hardy, age 37, traveled to Nashville to “meet” Cavallari, 38, “several months back.”
Nevertheless, the two did not develop a romantic relationship. The insider clarified about their meeting, “It was just a single date and nothing more.” Adding, “They did not reconnect.”
During the previous month, Cavallari shared insights into her return to dating and how she was introduced to an unnamed individual from the sports world.
Kristin Cavallari Reveals Her ‘Recent’ Return to Dating Applications
“I truly declared to the cosmos, ‘I am prepared for a date,’” the former The Hills star stated on an October installment of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast. “The following day, my agent contacted me and arranged a meeting with a coach, which was amusing because [matchmaker] Patti Stanger had appeared on my podcast and suggested, ‘You ought to date coaches.’”
Although Cavallari kept her date’s name undisclosed, she hinted that “he is quite significant” — despite her initial unfamiliarity with him.
“He is managed by CAA, as am I. Our respective agents orchestrated the meeting,” she clarified. “He traveled to Nashville, treated me to dinner, a truly wonderful man.”
Cavallari further mentioned that despite enjoying herself, she recognized that they were not an ideal pairing.
“I can discern after a first date whether I will have feelings for someone or not,” Cavallari pondered. “I attempted to make things progress, maintaining communication with him, and planned to meet again, but every instinct within me urged against it. When I deviate from what is truly for me, my entire being signals a warning. He is a truly decent person. I found our conversations pleasant. … It simply wasn't suitable.”
The encounter between Cavallari and Hardy occurred after the former Laguna Beach star chose to temporarily suspend her romantic pursuits earlier this year, opting to focus on her career instead.
“I made a deliberate choice because, in preparation for the podcast tour, I wished to avoid any diversions,” she clarified in October. “Subsequently, it was quite pleasant, and I found myself desiring solitude to concentrate on my professional endeavors and children.”
This marks another instance of the reality television personality being connected to an athlete.
In December of the previous year, she disclosed she was seeing a former athlete who she described as “a truly good man” and who “met all her criteria,” and then in April, she identified the anonymous individual on her podcast as former NHL player Nate Thompson, referring to it as “the most genuine, unblemished, incredible, so-called relationship I have ever experienced.”
“He is a father. He is an individual who has undertaken considerable personal growth, and we forged a profound connection. Truly, it was one of the more significant relationships I’ve encountered, particularly within such a brief period.”
“We were completely open. We shared absolutely everything with one another,” she further stated, explaining that she “would not categorize him as a boyfriend.”
Their geographical separation contributed to their eventual parting earlier in the year: “It’s not that we didn’t enjoy ourselves, and I felt an attraction to him. All the components seemed present… I simply wasn’t seeking a committed relationship at that time,” she expressed.
Cavallari is also mother to sons Camden, 13, and Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9, from her marriage to former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, a union that lasted from 2013 until 2022. Most recently, Cavallari was associated with Special Forces participant and TikTok personality Mark Estes for a duration of seven months in 2024.

In addition to dedicating time to her family, Cavallari has been occupied with the forthcoming Laguna Beach reunion, set for release next year. She journeyed to Orange County, California, the previous month to record the special alongside Lauren Conrad, Stephen Colletti, and other former high school peers.
Although Cavallari’s romantic pursuits weren't a primary concern over the last year, she conveyed enthusiasm for future developments.
“I cannot recall the last occasion I discussed my romantic life. Most likely because my dating activities were non-existent for the entirety of this year until lately, and now things have genuinely resumed,” she mused on her podcast. “And I am genuinely looking forward to it.”
