Kyle and Mauricio Share Cozy Christmas Movie Night Amidst Separation

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s daughter Sophia is offering fans a peek at the amicable dynamic between her parents amidst their separation.

Sophia, 25, shared a video on TikTok on Saturday, December 27, showing Richards, 56, and Umansky, 55, seated on the floor of a dimly lit living room, intently watching a movie on a television in front of them. The former couple enjoyed popcorn from a shared bowl as a crackling fireplace and a decorated Christmas tree created a cozy atmosphere.

“My parents watching their little movie and eating their little popcorn like little children,” Sophia wrote across the clip.

In the caption, the Bravolebrity added, “They’re just kids too.”

Sophia’s older sister Alexia, 29, expressed her affection for the sweet moment between their parents in the comments section.

“Stop it,” she wrote. “They’re our babies.”

The video was captured during the family’s annual holiday trip to Aspen, Colorado, which also included Richards and Umansky’s youngest daughter, Portia, 17, and Richards’ eldest daughter, Farrah Brittany, 37, from a previous relationship.

Sophia has provided fans with numerous other glimpses of their vacation through social media, including a December 25 Instagram post that featured a sisters’ selfie and images of the Christmas tree surrounded by presents.

This holiday season marked the third since news emerged of Richards and Umansky’s separation in July 2023.

“Any claims concerning a divorce are inaccurate,” Richards stated in a message via Instagram at the time. “However, yes, we have experienced a difficult year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both cherish and respect each other immensely.”

The statement continued, “There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we request the ability to resolve our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please refrain from fabricating stories to fit a more sensational narrative. Thank you for your love and support, Kyle & Mauricio.”

Umansky and Richards have maintained a friendly relationship throughout their separation. Prior to the December 4 premiere of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15, Umansky exclusively told Us Weekly how they have avoided tension during the split.

“The way Kyle and I have made it work is that it’s authentic, it’s natural,” he said. “We’ve never pretended anything. … We got married when we were young. We’re still legally married. But we were together for 27 years.”

Referring to Richards as his “best friend,” Umansky continued, “We’re fortunate to simply be genuine and vulnerable. We don’t have to manufacture anything for television. Everyone’s like, ‘What’s your secret?’ Well, my secret is that it’s not artificial. My secret is that it’s real.”

Umansky told Us that “it’s unfortunate” for those who end their marriage and “dislike” their former spouse, noting that this has never been the case with Richards.

“At the end of the day, you married that person. You married them because you loved them, and however your life changed, doesn’t mean you have to begin to dislike somebody,” he explained. “You could have an amicable split. You could have a positive split. You really should be good parents. You should not make things difficult.”
